Meniatis`s Blast Leads Yankees to Victory in Home Opener

It was a beautiful night at Richard`s Field for the Yankee`s home opener against the Angels. Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis, put the Yankees ahead in the bottom of the first inning with a towering three run blast. The Mad Bombers never looked back. Yankee starter Anthony (The Big Easy) Lazano along with Jordan (Panada) Susbilla and Scotty (Happy) Gilmore shut down a determined Angel`s line-up, holding them to six hits and striking out nine, over 6 innings. While the Yankee hitting attack was spearheaded by a Meniatis blast and a double, other Yankee hitters also got into the melee.  Parker (The Real Deal) True laid down a text book bunt, (Joltin) Jacob Rosin added 2 hits; a single and a rocket shot to the wall that went for a triple. Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado and Anthony (The Big Easy) Lazano added hard hit singles. Defensively, the Yanks flashed a little leather. Spencer (The Road Runner ) Floyd and Jake (The Snake) Peralta both provided solid defense in the outfield with solid back-up and Tristan ( Brave Heart) George blocked ball after ball behind the plate; securing the Yankee victory.

Defensive gem of the game: Jordan (Panda) Susbilla, back-up of third, saved a run

Hustle play of the game: Jordan (Panda) Susbilla, moving from first to third ; great hustle

Player of the Game. Chase Meniatis, Three run Homer and a double

Disabled List:

Charles (Hawk) Godtfredsen; dislocated elbow 3 to 4 weeks

Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell; stomach virus, day to day

The Yankee Organization would like to throw a special thanks out to team captain Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis. Chase is a true team leader and shows it everyday with effort and hustle.

FORMS AND HANDOUTS (2012):

Role of the Parent

"The parents of millions of Little Leaguers combined with their children, league officials, umpires, managers, coaches, and countless volunteer agencies including sponsors, represent an imposing cross section of our world. Parents must take the initiative to make the local program successful. Little League is not a club in which membership implies baby-sitting benefits and entertainment privileges. Practically speaking, Little League is an adult, volunteer work project constructed, supervised and assisted by parents who want to extend this benefit to their children. The parent who shirks this responsibility cannot, in turn, expect others to assume the burden.

Little League developed the Parent Orientation Program (POP) to help parents and volunteers better understand the rules and ideals of Little League." For further information, please click on the link below to learn more about the POP!

The above being saidwe are always looking for great volunteers to help out as Team Parents!  If you would like further information or have any questions about being a Team Parent, please contact Thu Razzano at volunteer@rwll.net

Message From City of Roseville

Posted by Chris Bracco at Jan 14, 2013 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Field closure notifications are not recommendations they are requirements. It is our goal to get the fields open and available for play everyday. The safety of your participants and the potential damage to the fields are our top priority. We try to evaluate fields individually due to drainage issues or absorption capabilities. That is why some fields may be cleared for play while others are not. We also evaluate both the infields and outfields. In some instances we can open an infield for practice while the outfield remains closed. Each season the City of Roseville parks accommodates approximately 5,000 youth sport participants on over 50 fields. We respect and appreciate the relationship we have with the youth leagues, as well as, the service the leagues provides to the children and parents of our community. When individual leagues disregard the City's requirements it impedes our ability to provide safe, quality fields to your participants. It undermines their relationship with other leagues, and also jeopardizes the leagues future use of facilities. Field closure notifications are updated by 3 pm weekdays and 8 am on weekends. We try to allow as much time possible during the day for the fields to recover before making a decision. It is leagues responsibility to check the field conditions and then inform their players, parents, and coaches of any field closures. We appreciate the support of those leagues who truly work in partnership with the City in delivering this message.
