The Mighty Bombers take a Shot to the Chin

Coming off a 14 hit attack against the Rangers, on Friday, the Yankees were looking to build momentum and keep sole position of second place. The Nationals had other things in mind. The Nats needed a win to force a three way tie for second place, and they came ready to play. When the smoke cleared, the boys in red walked away with a 10-0 victory, leaving The Mighty Bombers licking their wounds. The Yanks only managed 3 singles and struck out 12 times. Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell, Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis, and Adrei (The Big Cat) Buado had the lone hits for the Yankees. Starter Anthony (The Big Easy) Lozano pitched well in his 2 and 2/3 innings; striking out 5. Base running and outfield coach; J.B. True put in all in perspective saying, “we had no energy tonight, we were just flat”. “If the Yankees are looking to stay in contention they`re going to have to perform much better and be more consistent,” says manager; Craig Mitchell. Will the Mighty Bombers be able to rebound from this embarrassing defeat? or will the Yankees sink into oblivion? Stay Tuned!

With the loss the Bombers fall to 3-2, clinging to a second place tie with the Nationals and Reds.

Player of the Game: Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell, 1-2, hard shot to the wall and solid defense

Defensive play of the game: Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell, catch of a towering foul ball

Hustle Play of the Game: Spencer (The Roadrunner) Floyd, putting on a clinic and hustling for every back-up assignment.

Disabled List: Carles Godtfredsen; Dislocated Elbow, 1 week, Hayden Mitchell; groin, day to day

The Yankee Organization would like to throw out a special thanks to Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell. Hayden battled through a rough Fall Ball season, but was determined to make a change in the Spring. He shows that with hard work and determination you can meet your goals.

The Big Easy and Crew say No No to the Boys in Blue

After suffering a devastating loss at the hands of the Giants and coming off Easter Vacation, just about everyone in the baseball community was wondering how the Mighty Bombers would respond. They received their answer in the form of a No-Hitter from Anthony (The Big Easy) Lazano and a supporting cast of Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell and Scotty (Happy) Gilmore. Lazano struck out eight in his 2 and 2/3 innings of work and set the table for Mitchell and Gilmore to clean up the rest. Jordan (Panda) Susbilla led a nine hit Yankee attack going 3 for 3 with a double and a screaming line drive homerun that was in the air less than a second after leaving the bat. Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell slammed two doubles and had three R.B.I., Scotty (Happy) Gilmore added two hits, (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin added a single and Anthony (The Big Easy) Lazano helped his own cause with a single. Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado and Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis made the defensive play of the game when a ball got by  Buado. Buado recovered the ball quickly and threw a laser beam to Meniatis who laid down a picture perfect tag to record the out. The other Yankees playing solid defense were Parker (The Real Deal) True, Spencer (The Road Runner) Floyd, Tristan (Brave Heart) George and Jake (The Snake) Peralta.

With the win the Yankees move to 2-1

Player of the game: Jordan (Panda) Susbilla; 3-3 double, homerun

Defensive play of the game: Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado; threw out base stealer on passed ball

Hustle play of the game: Anthony (The Big Easy) Lazano; beautifully executed delayed steal

Disabled list: Charles Godtfredsen; dislocated elbow 2-3 weeks

The Yankee organization would like to throw out a special thanks to Jordan (Panda) Susbilla. Jordan is a true leader on the field and has a special (Panda Time) switch when it`s game time. “Jordan has the true instincts of a great ball player,” says Yankee coach Doug Rosin,

Miscues and Walks Lead to Yankee Demise in Second Game

The Yankees took to the field tonight looking to start the season with two straight wins, however it wasn`t long before the Mighty Bombers were in deep trouble. Yankee pitchers surrendered 8 walks and the usually reliable defense fell apart committing 9 errors. Harold Reynolds from the MLB Network said it the best,”It was like the Yankees were playing in quicksand”, they would try and dig themselves out only to find that they were deeper in the hole.  Despite playing one of their worst games in recent memory, the Yankees never gave up, hoping that things would change and they could get back in the game. Unfortunately that never happened and the Yanks fell 15-8. Tristan (Brave Heart) George led the Yankee hitting attack with his first homerun of the season; a screaming line drive over the left field fence. Other Bombers with hits were: Anthony (The Big Easy) Lazano; 2-3, Jordan (Panda) Susbilla; 2b, Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell; 1-2. On the defensive side of the ball, catcher; Andrei (The Big Cat Buado) made a great catch in foul territory and Anthony (The Big Easy) Lazano made two over the shoulder catches robbing base hits on both accounts. Parker (The Real Deal) True, Spencer (The Road Runner) Floyd, (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin, Jake (The Snake) Peralta and Scotty (Happy) Gilmore all played well in the outfield. Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis, Jordan (Panda) Susbilla, Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell and Anthony (The Big Easy) Lazano pitched well in relief of Yankee starter Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado.

With the loss the Yankees fall to: 1-1

Defensive Gem of the game: Anthony (The Big Easy) Lazano; two over the shoulder catches

Hustle play of the game: Andrei (The Big cat) Buado; hustling to catch a ball in foul territory.

Player of the game: Tristan (Brave Heart) George; Home run and great catch in the outfield

Disabled List:  Charles (Hawk) Godtfredsen; dislocated elbow; 3 to 4 weeks

The Yankee Organization would like to throw out a special thanks to, Tristan (Brave Heart) George. Tristan is the team`s inspirational leader and one of the hardest working Yankees on the field. “He is amazing, he plays hard every day, it doesn`t matter if it`s practice or a game,” says coach J.B. True.
