Bombers reach down deep, Streak Ends at Five

The Yankees came into Monday`s game carrying some heavy baggage, in the form of a five game losing streak. The Yankees knew that the season could be lost if they didn`t respond and start playing the kind of ball that they are capable of. The heavily touted Yankee defense had faultered of late, but returned to its true form as the laid seige to the Ranger offense. Team  captains; Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis and Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado led the way. Buado fired his cannon throwing out two potential base stealers and Meniatis laying out, with reckless abandon, snaring line drives and recording the outs. (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin took a basehit away at a critical time in the game and ended a Ranger rally. Anthony (The Big Easy) Lozano, Parker (The Real Deal) True and Scotty (Happy) Gilmore also made outstanding grabs in the outfield. Yankee starter Charles (Nails) Godtfredsen set the pace on the mound allowing only one hit in 3 innings of work. Jordan (Panda) Susbilla and "The Big Easy" worked the final three innings, shutting the door on any comeback attempt from the Rangers. The Yankees were led offensively by Anthony (The Big Easy) Lozano who went 3-4, lining a double of the center field wall. Parker (The Real Deal) True laid down a text book bunt and Jake (The Snake) Peralta and Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado added singles to help the cause. The Yankees also did the little things that help a team be successful. Spencer (The Road Runer) Floyd was in position, as always, with surperb backup coverage in the outfield. Tristan (Brave Heart) George put a ball in play, scoring the runner from third, and Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell beat out a dropped third strike and hustled down the line, causing an error.

Defensive Gem of the Game: Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis, diving catch at third, throwing runner out from his knees

Hustle Play of the Game: Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell, beating out dropped third strike

Player of the Game: (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin, Mr. Everything

The Yankees Organization would like to throw out a special thanks to (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin. Jacob`s versatility on defense is a valuable asset for the Yankees. He can play anywhere on the field and is one of the Bombers most dangerous hitters.

Yankee`s Woes Continue as losing streak hits five

Coming into Thursday`s game against the league leading Giants, the Yankees felt good about their chances, despite losing the previous four games. The Yankees had a solid week of preparation and were ready to right the ship. Things got off to a good start for the Yankees in the top half of the 1st inning, but deteriorated from there. The Yankees had a lack luster performance and fell to the Giants 14-1. "The Yankees have the opportunity to be one of the best teams in the league, but they have to want it", says Yankees Skipper Craig Mitchell. The Yankees were given three days rest to clear their heads and get ready to play a surging Rangers team. Yankee backstop Tristan ( Brave Heart) George says, "he knows the Yankees are better than this," and," he`s sure the best Yankee baseball will be seen in the days to come." Let`s hope Tristan is right.

Yankee bats fall silent once again, as the Bombers drop their third straight game.

Still reeling after blowing a 3 run lead late in the game against the Reds, the Mighty Bombers looked for answers to stop their recent skid against the pesky Nationals. The Nationals benefitted from 3 early errors in the first 2 innings as they built a 7-1 lead. The Yankee`s were able to put the ball in play, (striking out only five times) but were only able to muster four hits. The Yankee pitchers; Jordan (Panda) Susbilla, Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis and Charles (Hawk) Godtfedsen, threw great allowing only 6 hits. Yankee Coach; Don Peralta said, “ we couldn`t hit the ball hard off the tee right now, we`re due to break loose, “ when interviewed by the MLB Channel`s Harold Reynolds. Scotty (Happy) Gilmore lead the Yankee hitters with a screaming line drive that went for a double. Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis, (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin and Charles (Hawk) Godtfredsen had the other Yankee hits. The defense rebounded after a shaky start to make several defensive plays in the game. Jordan (Panda) Susbilla made an over the shoulder grab and gunned down a runner at home plate, Anthony (The Big Easy) put on a fielding clinic at short as did the ever reliable, Spencer (The Roadrunner) Floyd in right field. Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell added a great scoop at first and Parker (The Real Deal) True, Jake (The Snake) Peralta and Tristan (Brave Heart) George were all in the right place at the right time, defensively. With the loss the Bombers fall to 3-4 and drop into 4th place in the division.

Defensive Play of the Game: Jordan (Panda) Susbilla, Over the shoulder grab, that made the Great Willie Mays`s grab look like a school yard play.

Hustle Play of the Game: (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin, hustling down the line, trying to beat out a hit. (Instant replay showed that he was actually safe)!

Player of the Game: Charles (Hawk) Godtfredsen, pitched three stellar innings allowing one unearned run and only one hit.

The Yankee Organization would like to throw out a special thanks to; Charles (Hawk) Godtfredsen. Charles started the season on the disabled list due to a devastating elbow injury that would have ended many player`s season. Charles showed true Yankee grit and determination and fought his way back through a painful rehabilitation process. Charles`s nickname has now been changed from “Hawk” to “Nails,” for obvious reasons.
