Giants squeak out run in bottom of 6th to force a tie with the Mighty Bombers

The Yankees, facing elimination from the Tournament of Champions, had their backs to the wall against the league leading Giants. The Yankees struck first and often, scoring 6 runs in the first inning. The Yankees felt secure about going into the 5th inning and holding a 2 run lead, but a couple of errors and five walks in the final two frames allowed the G-men to force an 8-8 tie. Yankee pitchers Charles (Nails) Godtfredsen, Jordan (Panda) Susbilla and Anthony (The Big Easy) Lozano pitched good allowing only 8 runs to the league`s scoring leaders. Scotty (Happy) Gilmore got the final out in a pressure packed situation. "Happy" struck out the final batter with the bases loaded on a 3-2 count, keeping the winning run at third. The Yankees recieved some timely hitting making the most out of their five hits. Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado led the way going 2-3 with a single and double. Charles (Nails) Godtfredsen, Anthony (The Big Easy), and Jordan (Panda) Susbilla had the other Yankee hits.

The Yankee Organization would like to throw out a special thanks to: Spencer (The Roadrunner) Floyd. Spencer just started playing baseball a couple of season ago but shows it`s not how long you play that makes you great it`s the effort you put in at practice. Spencer is one of the hardest working Yankees.

Yanks Drizzle as Nats Sizzle

On Tuesday night a light rain fell over Richard`s Field as the Mighty Bombers took on the Nationals for the third and final meeting of the regular season. As in the previous two games, both won by the Nationals, the Yankees got off to a sluggish start defensively. The Yanks had four errors and misplayed a couple of balls in the first three innings leading to a nine run outburst that they would never recover from, and ended up losing 9-2.  The Nationals made the plays and we didn`t, it`s just that simple," says Yankee Coach, Don Peralta. There were a few bright spots for the Yankees. Facing some of the better pitching in the league the Yankees struck out only five times.  Anthony (The Big Easy) Lozano led the Yankee hitters going 2-3. Jordan (Panda) Susbilla continued his assault on the outfield walls, with another monsterous double. Scotty (Happy) Gilmore and Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis had singles. Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell had his third homer of the season taken away by a fantastic play in the Nats outfield, but added a single in his final at bat knocking in the lone Yankee runs. While Yankee starter, Charles (Nails) Godtfredsen and the Panda fell victim to a shakey Yankee denfense, The Big Easy and Jake (The Snake) Peralta were able to hold the Nationals scoreless over the final three frames. The Snake struck out the final two batters to close out the pitching effort. Defensively the Yankees were able to put together a perfectly executed pickle play, with Parker (The Real Deal) True coming in from center field and ran down former Yankee Ramon (Mad Dog) Esparza III. Other Yankees in the right spot at the right time were: Spencer (The Road Runner) Floyd, Tristan (Brave Heart) George and (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin. With the loss the Yankees remain alone in forth place with a 5-7 record.

Defensive Gem of the Game: Parker (The Real Deal) True; finishing off an outstanding pickle play

Hustle Play of the Game: Parker (The Real Deal) True; scoring from second on a base hit

Player of the Game: Jake (The Snake) Peralta; Laying down a nice swing and striking out the final two batters of the game.

Disabled List: Tristan (Brave Heart) George; virus; day to day

The Yankee Organization would like to throw out a special thanks to Jake (The Snake) Peralta. The Snake along with the Hammer are the longest tenured Bombers. Some times referred to as the "Baby Bomber," because he`s the youngest on the team, Jake is always up for the challenge when it comes to competing for playing time. Thanks for all the hard work!

Yanks do it all in Win over Dodgers

The Yanks, having ended their five game losing streak earlier this week, hoped to take that momentum into Thursday`s matchup against the Boys in Blue. The Yankees put together their best game of the season.  The Yankees aces, Charles (Nails) Godtfredsen and Anthony (The Big Easy) Lozano, combined on a one hitter in hurling the second Yankee shutout of the season. The Yankee defense was just a spectacular as its pitching, turning two double plays. Jordan (Panda) Susbilla, "The Big Easy" and (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin turned a text book 4-6-3 double play. Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis snared a line drive and threw to "Joltin` Jacob at first to record the second double play. Tristan (Brave Heart) George made a great catch in right field with the sun glaring in his face. The Yankees used a keen eye at the plate drawing four walks. Parker (The Real Deal) True took one for the team, getting nailed by a pitch that would have sent many a player to the bench. "The Real Deal" leads the league in getting hit by pitches, but brushes them off like a windshield getting splattered by a bug. The Bombers offensive was also evident. Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell hit a towering, three run blast that put the game out of reach for the Dodgers and ended the game in walk off fashion. Jordan (Panda) Susbilla, just missed a homer, ranking a double off the left field wall. Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado, (Joltin) Jacob Rosin and Charles (Nails) Godfretsen added singles to help the Yankke cause. With the 10-0 victory, The Yankees improve their record to 5-6 and take sole possession of 4th place.

Hustle Play of the Game: Charles (Nails) Godtfredsen; Moving from first to third on play to first.

Defensive Gem of the Game: Jordan (Panda) Susbilla; starting the 4-6-3 double play

Player of the Game: Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado; great defense behind the plate and a laser shot to center field for a single.

The Yankee Organization would like to thank; Team Captain Andrei (The Big Cat) Buado, Andrei is a true leader in every aspect of the word. As a Team Captain for three straight seasons, The Big Cat always has his team ready to play. "When you`re playing with the Big Cat, you better get in line, or he`ll throw you off the train like a rail ridin` hobo", explains Coach Don Peralta
