USSA St. Louis National Invitational Tournament – Record 4 – 3 – 0
3rd place out of 6 teams – 16U Open
We chose to play in the 16U Open division of the USSSA NIT held at Chesterfield to help us prepare for the “real” nationals the following week at ABC. We felt the older division would give us the best competition, and we did not care about winning this week. The real championship was yet to come, and we wanted to be ready. The girls played hard, got ready for the weather being so hot, and really got rolling towards their goal of ending the year with a win!

Fall Friendly Game
Won 12 – 1
Another Friendly game for some practice. We won this game and gave the girls some confidence heading into the last fall tournament. We didn’t keep stats, but the girls had fun, got in some swings, and won a game.

We won our only game we played in Metros before the rains came and the tournament was canceled.

NSA Fall Scholarship Tournament – Record 4 – 3
2nd place out of 18 teams
Our first serious tournament with teams in our age bracket, and we get a NSA berth to nationals in Chattanooga, TN. We did not have a great day on Saturday during pool play, but were able to get serious when bracket play started. We started bracket play beating the Nails, and that gave us a chance to actually get our bats going. After that, we beat the Chaos and the other Diamond Cats to get into the finals. We chose to play our entire team, and had the game knotted up at 4 when the Esprit went on a good offensive run, and the Cats had some defensive miscues to give them 4 more. Team batting average was .391, team OB% .450, and the other teams hit .217 against us. Our 11 errors were a problem, but we will get that worked out as we work together.

KAA Preseason Tournament – Record 3 – 2 – 0
5th place out of 19 teams
We looked a little rusty in our first tournament of the spring. But, Diamond Cat teams notoriously start slow and finish strong! We didn’t hit at all in our first pool game, but got our bats jump started after that. We won some games by large scores, and ended up one inning away from 3rd place and a chance at the championship game. Team batting average was .364, team OB% .440, and the other teams hit .348 against us.
