USSSA Prospects Indoor Tournament – Record 4 – 1

1^st place out of 6 teams

We entered this tournament at the last minute, filling a spot left by an Oklahoma team that could not get to St. Louis because of the weather.  The girls had lots of obligations, but we managed to have 9 on the field at all times.  It was fun, but because of the rules with the ceilings and foul territory, we did not keep stats.  All we know is that if the walls had been true fences, we would have had some serious hits outdoors.

SWIL ASA Northern Nat’l Qualifier 14U – Record 2 – 2

3rd place out of 7 teams – 14U

Played 14U in this tournament.  This tournament did not have enough 12U teams to fill out a bracket so we took a chance and played 14U.  The fact that this was our first tournament, and we won 2 games against teams older than us, we felt it was a very successful weekend.  Team batting average was .293, team OB% .414, and the other teams hit .294 against us. The weekend gave us reason to believe that we were going to be successful at 12U and could compete at 14U. This earned us a berth to ASA Northern Nationals in St. Louis.

ASA KC Metro Memorial Day Tournament – Record 4 – 2 – 1

5^th place out of 21 teams

We played some very good teams in this tournament, and lost in bracket play by one run to the team who eventually won the whole thing.  The Nebraska team was more mature looking and taller than we were…and we don’t have a small team.  It was good experience for us to play teams that match up well, so the girls know what really tough competition is about.
