LHP Carl Derline went the distance in the Bulldogs Art Wright Tournament opener to get the win.  Facing another tough lefty from Enfuego, both pitchers kept the came scoreless until the Bulldogs got one run off of the Enfuego releiver.

In the top of the 7th, Enfuego got their lead off hitter on and moved him to second on a sac bunt.  Derline struck out the next hitter but with two outs gave up a single to left field.  LF Connor Cloyd, scooped up the ball and made a perfect throw to catcher Joe Greaney to get the runner out at the plate and preserve the shutout win.

The Bulldogs remain undefeated in league and tournament play and put that record on the line Sunday at 3:20 and 6:00 at the Hive in Tacoma facing the Timberjacks and Triple Play.

Bulldogs on 5 Game Winning Streak

Carl Derline got his second win of the season as the Bulldogs win 17 - 4 in five innings over Lux.  Derline threw 4 shut out innings, with 5 Ks and 3 hits.
Leading the offense, Trevor Baldwin was 3-3 with a triple, that started a 10 run second inning, and Matt Simonds was 2-2 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI.
 
Game 6 is Monday Evening at 6:00 PM at Art Wright Field.

BULLDOG 16U Wins In Snohomish

Matt Simonds got his second win of the season going 4 innings as the starter allowing only 1 Earned Run in 4 innings. Matt helped out with the bat as well going 3-4 with 3 RBI and then caught the remainder of the game.

Center Fielder Connor Cloyd led the offense 4 hits in 5 at bats including 2 doubles and a critical bunt single with runners on first and second.  Jake Kushan was 2-2 with a double and Nick Minteer was 2-3 3RBI.  Unable to play defense due to an injury during the HS season, Jarryd Reiman had 4 stolen bases and scored 5 runs running for pitchers and catchers.

The Bulldogs remain undefeated at 4 -0 on the season and put their record on the line against Lux at home on Mothers Day at 4:00 PM.

The 16U Bulldogs, with a lot of help from 4 15U team players, remained undefeated as they held on to win 9-8 Tuesday night.  With about half of the 16U team sitll involved in high school playoffs, the 16U team started Chris Minteer and Mike Leverenz from the 15U Blue team and added in Lane and Hoffel, from the 15U Red team,  in the first inning.  Both Lane and Hoffel pitched and Lane added an RBI single in the 4th.  Young Mike Leverenz made a game winning catch on the right field line get the last out.

Matt Simonds entered in the 4th, down 3 runs, and became the pitcher of record when the team gave him the lead in the 6th. Simonds fought off a 7th inning rally, to get the win, striking out 6 of the 14 batters faced and only allowing one earned run in the bottom of the 7th.

Carl Derline lead the offense with 3-4 performance including a solo homerun and 3RBI. Chris Minteer added 3 runs as he went 2-3 with a walk.    Nick Minteer Showed his complete versatility filling in seamlessly behind the plate for all 7 innings.

The Bulldogs Play in Snohomish at Pilchuck Field on Saturday May 8 at 3:00 PM.

The Bulldog 16U team opened their season with two wins on Sunday May 2nd  winning 7 - 5 over Baden and 6 - 0 over the Black Sox.   

In the opener RHP Nick Minteer got the win going 5 innings giving up only 2 earned runs.  Minteer helped his own cause with a 2 run homer in the 3rd inning.

The Bulldogs scored in the 1st inning as center fielder Connor Cloyd led off with a single, stole second base and scored on a single from second baseman Trevor Baldwin who was 2-2 with a BB in the game. Catcher Joe Greaney threw out the only stolen base attempt and caught a flawless game.  Greaney added two runs in the 2nd inning going deep following a 2 out single by third baseman Doug Jones.  LHP Carl Derline threw the last two innings as the Bulldogs held off a late rally for the win.   

 

In the nightcap, RHP Doug Jones got the win throwing 4innings with no ER.  In relief Aaron Wagner continued to hold the Black Sox scoreless and Trevor Baldwin closed the last inning preserving the 6-0 shut out. 

Leading the Bulldog offense was second baseman Trevor Baldwin going 3 for 3 in the game and  5 for 6 on the night and Connor Cloyd, 2 for 3 in the game and 5 for 7 on the night.  Designated hitter Joe Greaney went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles on the game. 

The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday at 6:00 PM against the visiting YBC Cagers from Yelm, WA.
