Ladywood Loses To GPN!

Posted by Bruce Peck at Feb 5, 2003 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The Blazers went to Viking Arena to take on a much improved Grosse Pointe North team and left with a loss. Ladywood scored first on a power play goal by senior Katie Karabelski with assists from junior Mary Beth O'Dea and senior Sara Sharp. The first period ended with Ladywood picking up a penalty to start the second period down two players. North took full advantage of the situation to tie the score early in the second. They then went on to score three more goals in the period, another on the power play. It was perhaps the worst period of hockey the Blazers have played all year. It took a time out to get the team back on track. Mary Beth O'Dea scored shortly after to put the score at 4-2. In the third period the Blazers worked much harder and controlled the period but couldn't score. They did hit the goals post twice, and the North goalie made some big saves. The final score ended 4-2.
