Greetings from The Ridge Youth Hockey Club (RYHC)!

The RYHC is currently enjoying successful seasons on many levels with our '09-'10 Fall/Winter Mite Minor (The Rock Ice & MCYHL leagues), Mite Major (MCYHL) and Squirt (MCYHL) Teams. The RYHC Board of Directors has been meeting over the last several months to determine the club's direction for our traditional spring league play at the Mite, Squirt & Pee Wee levels and to develop prospective rosters and coaches. Last year's spring teams were a huge success as all three Ridge teams - Mite, Squirt & PW made the Twin Oaks League Finals!

For the 2010 Spring hockey season, The RYHC will participate in league play at a local rink yet to be determimed at Mite ('02-'03), Squirt ('00-'01) and PeeWee (full-checking) ('98-'99) birth years. During the first week in February, e-mail letters went out to prospective players for the upcoming season. Players with interest in a roster spot should e-mail their respective coaches asap and be prepared to send a fully refundable $200 deposit to confirm interest no later than March 1, 2010. Roster spots subject to availability and are awarded to veteran players of the program, wait-list players and then on a first-come, first-served basis. Our goal is to accomodate every player possible.

The Ridge Youth Hockey Club was established as an independent, USA Hockey affiliated, 501c3 youth hockey organization and program on 12/8/08. The installation of a charter, a board of directors and non-profit status essentially "formalized" the existence of an already established and growing Ridge youth hockey body. The RYHC Board of Directors orchestrates, provides strategy and decision-making for recreational ice hockey teams at the mite, squirt and pee-wee levels in Basking Ridge. The RYHC is an independent, "family-run" hockey club not affiliated with the Basking Ridge town recreation department. The RYHC works hand-in-hand (albeit, not under any formal organizational structure) with the Ridge Ice Hockey Assocation (RIHA), which is the formal organizing body of Ridge Ice Hockey at the Middle School, Junior Varsity and Varsity HS levels. The RYHC has enjoyed much success in player development, team play and has substantially advanced the growth of youth hockey locally.
