The Oregon 2005 season is coming to a close and we are receingmany positive comments from our Parents and Kids about the success the boys are having on the field.  It has been great to hear from so many and we appreciate that so much.   Here are just a few of the comments we have received:

Coach Brian Derby Resume and Background High School: Played High School Ball at Pearl City High school for Former Oregon State All-American Quarterback Joe Francis and former Green Bay Packer QB under Vince Lombardi. First Team All-State Center out of Pearl City High School and Honorable Mention All-American. College: Recruited by BYU, Washington and U.H. . Went to the University of Hawaii on a full scholarship and was a 4 year letterman. I played Center, Guard, Tackle and was a Captain on the 1985 football team. Coaching experience: I coach 1 year under Former U.H Coach, Former Arizona, Former San Francisco 49ers Assistant, Former University of Texas Assistant, and current Head Coach at San Jose State Coach Dick Tomey. Also coached 12 years at Punahou High School under current University of Hawaii QB coach Dan Morrisson. In 1995 we were rank #23 in the country. During my Tenure at Punahou I have had 10 first team All-State Linemen and One Parade First Team All-American, and numerous all-league first teamers. My 2-time All-State Center from Punahou (Brandon Ito) played at Lewis and Clark under Tom Smyte. He was a Little All-America there. I have also Coached on the Island of Kauai(Kauai High School) the past Four years as the O-line Coach. We Won the Kauai Interscholastic League Championship for the first time in 15 yearsin 2003 and repeated again in 2004! Since retired from Kauai but still consult with Coach Keli’i Mordado. My Clinic: I started my clinic 8 yrs ago when a father of one of my former players approached me to help his son develop his skills. I began working with his son and soon word spread and I had 4 kids working out with me. That year 3 of the 4 players earned first team All-State honors and of course the word traveled through out the Island. The next year I had 30 kids, then that number grew to 60 kids and now we are at about 150 kids. I coach kids of all ages...I will never turn a kid away, unless that kid has a poor attitude. I have had kids that I have coached earn scholarships at Oregon State, U. of Oregon, Lewis and Clark, Wisconsin, Northwestern, University of Hawaii, Utah, BYU, Western Kentucky, Montana, Naval Academy, Portland State to name a few. Currently Coaching: 1.) Clinics here in Hawaii 2.) Clinics in Utah 3.) Consulting with Baldwin High school on Maui and Kaua’i High School of Kaua’i. 4.) Coach for Hosei University in Japan--Been with Hosei for 8 years. In my 8 years with Hosei we have been to 8 National Championship games and have won one National Titlein 2000 and tied one in 1997. 5.) Palmer, Alaska Offensive Linemen’s Camp 6.)
