Freshman fall 31 - 18   The Freshman Canton Lions were involved in a high scoring game against the Redford Rangers but came up short by a score of 31-18.  The running game was fueled by strong blocking from Mason Robichaud and Isaac Jackson, resulting in strong runs from Victor Abraham, and Jacob Miller, who accounted for the Lions three touchdowns.  Jacob McCall also caught a key pass in traffic to set up a touchdown.  The defense received strong play from Damarcus Kaigler, David Mason, and Matthew Wayne.

Junior Varisty roars, even record at 1 and 1 with win against Redford 

The Canton Lions JV Squad fired up it's Offense by defeating the Redford Rangers (20-6). The scoring was led by (2) rushing touchdowns from Tristan Rainey, (1) rushing touchdown from Allante Wheeler, and extra point scores by James Hall and Charles Turfe. Defensive standouts included Daniel Jipping, Daniel Kilgore, Forest Hall, Tyrece Smith, Kyle Murray, Kenny Arnold, and Andrew Hunt.

Varsity mixes run and pass to roar past Redford in home opener win against Redford, 31-18  The Lions roared onto the field led by an inspired defense, and an offense running on all cylinders. After an early defensive stand, the special teams blocked the Redford punt and Ben Slater returned the ball inside the ten yard line setting up the Lions first score. The Lions offense utilized a potent rushing attack, led by Malcolm Hollingsworth and Jordan Cicicotti, to control much off the game. The passing game was highlighted by long passes from Jamarl Eiland and Brandon Lee, to Nate Emminger and Luke Denzer. 

The Lions line-backing corps led the team by stuffing the Redford running attempts. Nate Emminger, Kyle Durham, and Brendon Swanson all had big days making tackles all over the field. The secondary took away the Redford arriel assault – Tony Nyberg, Wally Turner, and Cody Korpus all were paramount in denying would be completions.

 

Junior Freshmen Tackle Redford Rangers  The Lions’ junior freshmen turned in an intense performance against the Rangers.  The offense ran smooth with key performances by Jack Underwood, Justin Reynolds, Bennett Austin and Bradley Tyszkiewicz.  The defensive side of the ball saw hard hitting by Conner Flanigan, Wesley Askew, Chase Meredith and Ryan Cassidy.

 

 

 

 

Lions Varsity Roars at Brighton!, record win at Brighton 45 – 22.

The lions were led offensively by Malcolm Hollingsworth who scored 3 tds on the ground, Scott Gring and Nathan Emminger added TD catches and Jordan Ciciotti ended the scoring with a 5 yd td run. The offensive line led by Luke Denzer and Danny Stropes opened holes all afternoon.

The defense was led by Brandon Lee and Jamarl Eiland, who had an interception. The defensive was anchored by Kyle Durham, Cody Sirls, Alex Smith, Travis McCall and Evan Lee.

 

Lions JV fight hard, take first loss at Brighton 20 -0.

The Lions could not generate enough Offense to score, which resulted in a shutout. In contrast, although 20 points were given up defensively several Lions showed impressive efforts; Daniel Jipping, Kenny Arnold, Andrew Hunt, Mike San Millian, and Daniel Kilgore.

Freshman battle for three quarters, lose 25 - 0 at Brighton

The Lions freshman team squared up against a tough Bulldogs team and were on the losing end by a score of 25-0. The Lions defense kept them in the game until the end of the 3rd quarter with strong defensive play by Justin Burgos, Jason Arnold, Jackob Wickens, Jackson Austin, and William Bode, who blocked an early punt. The Lions offense had a tough time moving the ball against a stingy defense but were led by quarterback Evan Voyles and the line play of Shaw Lyall and Spence Vantiem.

 

Junior Freshman battle Brighton in hard fought, hard hitting game 

The Canton Lions Jr. Freshman Team faced the Bulldogs in a hard fought, hard hitting game.  The offense was led by solid play from Mitchell McKenzie, Guido Constantino, Spencer Brown, and Noah Brown.  Strong defensive play was registered by Trevor LaPere, Steven Shoats-Thomas, and Devin Farmer.

 

The Detroit Lions Football Camp was held at Central Middle School in Plymouth. One-hundred kids between the ages of 6 and 15 attended the four day clinic. Nine year old Canton Lion, Jason Arnold received the prestigious Calvin johnson Future Superstar award during the post camp ceremonies. image

Canton Lions award Scholarship

Former Canton Lion, William Tidwell has been awarded a Scholarship by the Canton Lions. Tidwell starred for the Canton Lions and went onto a successful career with the Canton High School Chiefs.
