Linda’s Closet 5K Run-Walk

The Linda’s Closet 5K Run/Walk was created to benefit women entering the workforce in the Monadnock Region. Every donation works towards creating a better quality of life for the women that use our service. The relaxed and fun race takes place every September with men and women of all ages working to help Linda’s Closet make a difference. 

Race Date: Sept. 16, 2017 Registration begins at 7:15 and the race begins at 8:30 $15 per individual participant postmarked on or before Aug 31st; $20 after that date. $15 per Corporate Challenge participant postmarked before Aug 31st; $20 after that date. $10 per Family participant postmarked before Aug 31st; $15 after that date.

Peter Michael Abbott 5K

On September 9th, 2017 at 9:00AM, the 8th Annual Peter Michael Abbott Memorial 5K+ Race & Walk will take place at Con-Val Regional High School, 106 Hancock Road, Peterborough, NH 03458 (Route 202). The Peter Michael Abbott Memorial Fund is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization where all proceeds directly support the community in offering two annual academic scholarships for a male and female Con-Val Regional High School senior attending college, provide financial support to the two local food pantries and other community needs.

Course Description: The flat, fast, and fun 5K+ (actual course distance is 3.3 miles) Run & Walk will start and finish at the ConVal Football Stadium. Participants will journey along parts of the scenic rail-trails of the former Boston & Maine Railroad bed nestled in the beautifully wooded forest of North Peterborough, New Hampshire.

Amenities: * 5K+ T-Shirt to the first 150 registered runners and walkers * Professional timing by Tri-State Racing Service * Race results will be posted on race day prior to the awards ceremony as well as on coolrunning.com * Medals will be awarded at 10:30 am to the first female and male finishers, the oldest and youngest finishers and the top three female and male finishers in the following age categories: 9 andUnder, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-Up Race Day Registration fees: $25 per person, $55 per family 3 or more members, $15 per student ages 6-18. Early Registration fees: $20 per person, $50 per family 3 or more members, $10 per student ages 6-18. Registration form and signed waiver must be received by September 6th, 2017 for Early Registration.

Race packets will be available 7:30 - 8:30 am at the registration booth on race day. Wapack Trail Race (and relay )

Sunday, September 3, 2017, 9:00 a.m.  The Wapack race course is 18.0 miles. The route is an out-and-back that follows the Wapack Trail between New Ipswich, NH and Ashburnham, MA. There are four major mountains in between: Barrett, New Ipswich, Pratt, and Watatic, from north to south.

Swanzey Covered Bridges Half Marathon

Mostly flat, fast terrain with a few gentle, rolling hills thrown in are par for the course along the Swanzey Covered Bridges Half Marathon — also called “Elijah’s Race,” in honor of the local runner who founded the race, Elijah Barrett — which showcases the signature landmarks of this southwestern New Hampshire town, located just over 10 miles each from the borders with Massachusetts and Vermont.
