PLAYERS OF THE GAME -- WEEK 3 VS. WADE HAMPTON
The Hillcrest CTeam and JV Team took on the Wade Hampton Generals on Thursday, Sept. 6 at Hillcrest, with a very large crowd on hand to watch the games. The CTeam played a tough game but lost by 1 point, 8 - 7. JV had an impressive 27 - 6 victory. Thank you to everyone who came out and watched these games; these players are the future of Hillcrest Football and need your support and encouragement.
This season, Coach Hallman will be recognizing up to two Rams as Player of the Game for each of the eleven games. These players will be picked by the coaches for notable contributions to the game. Each player will be presented with a Game Ball (see below; we will have the game ball pictured each week, except for Game 1--the balls were given out before a picture could be made). The first week (vs. Hanna), the Players of the Game are Chris Merrill (25 carries for 171 yards, and 1 reception for 11 yards) and Patrick Neeley (6 receptions for 122 yards). For the Mauldin game, the Players of the Game are Chris Merrill (31 carries for 190 yards) and Brad Bowen, starting right tackle. Congratulations, guys!!
**Note: As of Sept. 5, Chris is the 4th-ranked rusher in the Upstate, and Patrick is the 9th-ranked receiver. Way to go RAMS!
The Hillcrest JV and CTeam got their preseason off to a good start on Saturday, August 18, in the Woodmont Jamboree. JV started the afternoon with a 26-6 win over West Oak, and CTeam defeated Woodmont 13-0. Congratulations, players and coaches!
