69ers Slo-pitch

We're baaaacckk! After a one year hiatus the team has decided to again suck it for one day and play ball in -30 weather. What can I say, we can't be cute and smart! The tournament takes place March 14th so stay tuned............

Well first off, there was this opening act, Hedley something or other.  They played for awhile but I lost interest as I started fantasizing about being on a desert island with Mr. Bon Jovi.................   Next thing you know, it was time for another beer and by the time I got back, the opening act was over.

Then came Jon.............  He started with "Lost Highway" and I got weak in the knees.  It was like he was singing to me and me alone!  By this time I was standing on my seat and was debating at what point my underwear should be flung upon the stage.  Not wanting to seem to easy, I decided to hold off and instead began screaming " I LOVE YOU!"  I was shocked and amazed when I looked behind me only to see another girl shouting out the same phrase.  Who the h*ll does this girl think she is I thought, that's my Jon!  After trying to explain to this gal that she should not talk about my lover that way, I finally lost my temper and had to pop her one.  She seemed very surprised by my response but needless to say, she was much more respectfull of my man for the remainder of the concert.........

He played many great new and classic songs but sadly, I can hardly remember what they were.   Could of been the beer,  may have been the hormones going crazy. Who knows?!

What I do know however is that the band has some awesome security!  Once the concert was over I of course had to sneak back stage to see my lover Jon.   Seeing some groupies, I stole a backstage pass off some blonde bimbo and away I went.   After showing the pass to numerous guards, I finally arrived at their dressing room.  All was good until that blonde bimbo came running up accusing me of assulting her and stealing her pass.  I tried to explain to security that she was crazy and I was Jons one true love and at first they seemed willing to listen.  Unfortunately for me, I must of started to panick and ended up kicking one of the guards in the balls.  After that, there was just no reasoning with them.........

So to summarize the concert, best $145 I ever spent!  I got to see my true love Jon, beat up a chick and kicked a guy in the nads.  Who could ask for more!!!  

Now, I realize Ozzy may be getting up there in age BUT, he can still belt out those songs!  The Ozz was on stage for about an hour and a half and the concert was well worth the $80 ticket price.  Sadly, the rather large gal sitting behind me might disagree.  After chanting "Ozzy" and spilling beer on me for a good hour, she unfortunately passed out just before Ozzy came on stage.  She did wake up once to go puke but must of still been tired as she then went back to sleep until the show was over.  It was probably best that she did pass out because had she throw her underwear on stage, Ozzy probably would of ran for the hills!   In summary, Ozzy may not be able to hop around like 20 years ago however, he still puts on one h*ll of a  show!  

As for Rob Zombie, his show was frickin fantastic!  The songs sounded like you were listening to him on CD and man did he work the stage.  He had clips from movies he's directed playing in the backround and Robs show alone was well worth the ticket price.  Not to take anything away from Ozzy but Zombie is definately not an opening act and if you ever get the chance to see him in concert, go!

If you wanted to see freaks, this concert was the place to be!  Piercings, tattoos, leather pants, mohawks, this concert had it all.  And for those of you who worry about the next generation of kids, don't.  The younger concert goers were the quite ones drinking their beers and having a good time.  It was those mid 40 wife beating rebels that were smoking pot galore and screaming at the top of their lungs!  Watching all the freaks was alot like watching a train wreck.  You don't want to stop and stare but ya just can't help it!

Anyway, long story short, concert was great and I would go again.  And as for the chick who was passed out behind us and missed Ozzy all together, sucks to be you...............................

Nothing says "Snow Pitch" like a mid afternoon blizzard.... After losing a very close first game with the sun somewhat shining, we played our next game in some very crappy weather. Ahead 3 runs in the fifth, Derek evaluated the blowing snow conditions and made an "executive" decision to forfeit the game. This was probably the best decision made all day and the other team was quite upset they did not think of it first. Sucks to be them! As always the beverages were a plenty and as a result I learned many things that day. 1) Bob is very "kissy" when drunk 2) Lee has way to many goofy hats 3) Leg wrestling when drunk, not cool 4) no parties at my place again, ever 5) Bob sits down to pee! As you can see, always use your glove to catch the ball and NOT your face! Good news is that the black eye actually improves his looks...........
