The varsity and JV teams will be heading to Rapid City to play 4 games on friday September 24, 2004 and saturday September 25, 2004. After the games on friday the teams will be going to the football game in Rapid city, as the Yankton Bucks are playing the Rapid City Stevens Raiders. Rapid City Softball Schedule: Friday: 4:00 Yankton Varsity vs Douglas 5:30 Yankton JV vs Sturgis JV Saturday: 9:30 Yankton JV vs Stevens Soph. 11:00 Yankton Varsity vs Central Yankton JV vs Stevens JV 12:30 Yankton Varsity vs Sturgis Yankton JV vs Central JV 2:00 Yankton Varsity vs Stevens The Yankton Gazelles fastpitch softball teams will be holding informational meetings and registrations for the 2004 Fall season on Tuesday July 27th and Wednesday July 28th at 7:00 PM at the Summit Activities Center meeting room. All girls interested in participating on any of the Gazelles softball teams this fall and their parents need to attend one of these meetings. These will be the only meetings and registration times. Your attendance is required at one of these meetings if you want to play this fall. For more information call 665-8145 or 665-5747. We are looking forward to the 2004 Fall season. We will be posting information on meetings and registration for the 2004 fall season in the near future! Our 2003 Fall season has just ended with the Gazelles Varsity team finishing 4th in the state tournament. Ashley Bodden and Emily Freng were honored as members of the all tournament team! The Gazelles JV team successfully defended their JV state tournament title. CONGRATULATIONS to all the JV players and coaches on a very entertaining and successful season! Our 2003 awards program was held at The Pizza Ranch. It was great to see so many of the players and their families and friends were able to attend. Keep up the good work!!!!! The Fall of 2001 marked another first for the Yankton High School softball team. Softball has been approved as a club sport for the first time in Yankton. We are now able to use the school's team name, Gazelles, the school colors, and the girls will be able to earn a varsity letter in softball.
