Congratulations to Jeff Alexander, our Varsity Softball Coach, for being selected Sacramento Metro Coach of the Year. In only his 2nd year, Jeff has taken his team to the Sac-Joaquin Sectional Championship game each season. Last year the team lost the 2nd game against Vacaville 3-2. This year the team completed the sweep, defeating Vintage 2-0 and 9-0. In two years Jeff's teams have compiled a combined record of 63-6, with three of those losses in the Sectionals. On top of that, Jeff's team's have won both West Campus Pre-Season Tournaments and both Stephanie LeDoux Tournaments. Jeff's hard work and dedication to the players and the program are immeasurable. Again, congratulations Jeff and thank you for all your hard work.
Congratulations to our Varsity Softball Team for winning the CIF Sac-Joaquin Sectional Championship. This team proved to all that they were the best of the area this season. Finishing with a record of 34-1, including 6 straight victories and 3 straight shutouts truly showed that these young, exceptional ladies can really hold their heads up high and be proud of what they've accomplished. On behalf of all at Elk Grove, congratulations ladies and great job Jeff, Sandy, and Heidi. You are the best!!!!!
All of us associated with the program would like to say thank you to our seniors for your hard work and leadership this season. We are so proud of you. You were just amazing. Individuals like yourselves are hard to come by and it will be very difficult replacing you. We will miss all of you so much. Don't forget us when you go off to college. We hope to see you next season at our games. Take care and thank you Cassie, Rebecca, Delaina, Holli, and Nicole. 
Congratulations to the Junior Varsity team for taking 2nd place in the Delta League and finishing with a 20-6 record. Although the team was dominated by freshman players, they played every game like veterans. We would also like to thank all the parents for their support throughout the season. It may be a cliche, but without you this season would not have been possible. Your support of the players at each game was outstanding. And I just know the opposing teams loved those air horns. Again, congratulations to the JV team on another outstanding season.
Ladies, on behalf of Jon and myself, we would like to thank you for another outstanding season. All of you have shown great dedication to Herd Softball. Finishing the season with a record of 20-6 is something you all should be very proud of. Jon and I have commented a number of times about how proud we are of all of you for all the hours you have put in to making this such a spectacular team. We would also like to say farewell to our two sophomores and team captains, Stefani and Taylor. You two have done a great job helping us run this team. We've been together for two years now and we are going to miss both of you a great deal. In the two years you've been with us, the team has won 45 games, which is outstanding.
Again, Jon and I would like to say congratulations and thank you for all that you have done for us. Have a great summer and we look forward to seeing all the returning players for next season. Take care everyone.
