The Norwood Blues swept through the Tri State Classic with five consecutive wins including a come from behind extra inning title game victory over Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
After winning three pool games and the "B" pool #1 seed,  the Blues met Hartford in a semi final game.  Shutout through four innings, the Blues erupted for six runs in the 5th inning.  Key hits in the inning came from the bats of Jeff Mustari, John McHugh, Jeff Linforth, Kyle Mitter and Jovani Sanchez.  When the Blues scored an additional four runs in the 6th the outcome was decided.  Key hits in the inning were contributed by Henry Singer, Justin Mills, and Jaime Sanchez.  Gaining the "W" on the mound with a complete game performance was Cameron Benesch.  Pool game winners on the mound were Tom Kunzer and Jake Greenberg in game 1, George Sherman in game 2 and Sam Kindle in game 3.  Saves were acquired by Sam Margolis and Isaiah Rivera.  In the title game the Blues trailed 5-4 heading into the 7th inning but tied the game on a Henry Singer base hit and Kyle Mitter squeeze bunt.  The game was won in the 8th with key hits coming off the bats of Singer, Mills, Joseph Krebs, John McHugh, Jeff Linforth and Jaime Sanchez.  Jake Greenberg was the starter on the mound and Isaiah Rivera gained the win in relief. Japeth Bandi also contributed greatly with his glove.  Earlier in the tournament, Sam Nozicka had contributed much to the offense with several extra base hits including a very long home run on Friday night.  The Blues returned to Chicago with the title and an over all record of 19 wins and 6 losses.  CONGRATS
