Knights Back For 2005!

Posted by Britton Scheibe at Mar 9, 2005 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The San Diego Knights are back for a 9th season! After a disappointing end to the Summer 2004 season, the Knights are re-focused and ready to bring it home in 2005. Everyone is returning, although not full time, to the Knights for the current season. To make up for the few part timers, the Knights have added David Parks, Jason Schmiser and Brett Callan to the roster. All three should add to an already strong team. The Knights have made the play-offs every year of their existence. This year they are looking to take it all the way!

Knights Reach End Of An Era

Posted by Britton Scheibe at Oct 25, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
After 8 seasons of play, the San Diego Knights have come to a crossroads. The Knights lost 7-6 in the Summer 2004 play-offs to the Flys in what was among the most disappointing losses in the teams history. The Knights led 6-2 going into the 8th before surrendering 5 runs, 3 of them unearned. With time running out, the Knights could not put any more runs on the board in the 8th or 9th and ended what looked to be a championship season. Next season will have a different look as Britton Scheibe and Scott Gunther will be moving on as full time players on the team. Scott Gunther will be moving to Orange County, but will still put in an appearance from time to time. Britton Scheibe is stepping down as manager and will hand the reins over, but to whom is not yet known. The Knights went 91-37 over the 8 seasons and were in the play-offs every year. The Knights won four consecutive Metal Bat Championships from Summer 2002 to Spring 2004, winning the overall Championship in the Spring of 2003 and the Spring of 2004. This is success which has little if any rival. Things will be different from this point forward but with mostly everyone returning, the strong core of the Knights will live on and continue their winning ways.

Knights Spring Champions in 16-0 Season!

Posted by Britton Scheibe at Jun 27, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The San Diego Knights completed the most successful season in team history, finishing the Spring 2004 season at 16-0. The Knights beat the San Marcos Blacksox 9-5 to advance to the championship game and then took care of the Tri-City Devils by a final score of 25-1 in the championship game. Almost all offensive single season records were shattered this season. Scott Gunther put together perhaps the finest season anyone ever has or ever will hitting a cool .645 for the season and crushing the single season doubles mark with 17. Tyler Ryan led the way on the mound going 12-0. The Knights will be making the switch to wood bats in the Summer and hope to continue their run of success.
