JETS EXCEL AT HIGH SCHOOL CAMPS

Posted by Craig Bates at Jun 23, 2001 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Several Jets attended Camps at St. Pius X and Park Hill South High Schools. During the week, Pius Coach Rick Byers commented, "we've had many Jets in our High School program and they come to us as well trained players. The Jets are one of the best teams in the area." The camps emphasized fundamentals, tested the players for speed and agility and offered a lot of fun time for "razzle dazzle" and 7 on 7 competition. CONGRATULATIONS to Jimmy Summers for winning the PHS 5th and 6th Punt, Pass and Kick contest! BE SURE TO CHECK THE ALBUM FOR MORE PHOTOS FROM THE CAMPS.
The Jets Club is known for its outstanding conditioning program. Top fitness is critical to any safe Football program. PROSPECTIVE PLAYERS AND PARENTS SHOULD BE SUSPECT OF ANY TEAM THAT DOES NOT EMPHASIZE A LOT OF CONDITIONING WORK. Being in top shape allows the youth player to play harder while adapting to the mental aspects of the game. This is important in developing a player to move on to a higher level. Another advantage is how the Jets fitness program conditions its players for other sports. Transitioning into Basketball, Wrestling and Baseball after the Football season, is aided tremendously by the great shape the kids are in. Larger boys find that the conditioning system slims them down and increases their speed. Jets players are in incredible shape at the end of the season when championships are decided. Staying in great shape and winning trophy's is a great combination!
