Seattle Times League Outlooks SPSL-South

Posted by Thomas Lindsey at Mar 26, 2002 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
SPSL South Favorites — Emerald Ridge, Jefferson. Contenders — Curtis, Decatur. Top returning players — 1B Erin Johnson, Jefferson, Sr.; P Jo Sonnett, P, Emerald Ridge, Sr.; C Tiffany Bowser, Curtis, Sr.; SS April Lee, Rogers, Sr.; 3B ALISA BIBLE, SPANAWAY LAKE, JR.; 2B Rachel Girello, Jefferson, Sr.; P Kelly Claar, Decatur, Sr.; 3B MALLORY TOWNSEND, EMERALD RIDGE, SO.; P NATASHA LINDSEY, JEFFERSON, SR.; P Sarah Christensen, Puyallup, Sr.; OF Chelsea Hunt, Jefferson, Jr. Notable — Federal Way went 15-1 to win South last year but lost everyone to graduation except Claar, who was co-MVP with Emerald Ridge's Sonnett. But Claar moved to Decatur, now considered a contender after last year's 1-15 finish. Emerald Ridge and Jefferson, which finished 2-3 behind Federal Way, both have lots of talent back. They play Friday at Jefferson in the first of two showdowns. *ANGEL PLAYERS LISTED IN ALL CAPS*image
