Seniors Alexis Groce and Henry Phalen scored special performances in their final scholastic race to win individual Kent County Championships at Milford Millponds Nature Preserve.

Groce ran a new-course record of 19:47, while Phalen ran 17:06 to smash their competition. James Hagen and Trevor Maloney each broke 18 to score a 1-2-3 sweep for the boys, who won the team title with just 23 points. Andrew Eshelman and Brandon Munce rounded out the top five, who each earned All-Kent County honors, finishing in the Top 15.

Meanwhile, Lydia Cole, Hannah Uebele and Janin Rodriguez each earned All-county finishes for the girls.

Henry Phalen surged ahead of the pack with a career-best 16:42 to become the latest individual cross country champion from MHSCC at Saturday's Henlopen Championship at Killens Pond State Park. Alexis Groce finished a strong runner-up with a Killens best 19:47 to lead the girls to a runner-up team finish as well. The boys finished third overall.

Trevor Maloney (9th, 17:42), Hannah Uebele (9th, 21:27) and Lydia Cole (15th, 22:00) reached 2nd-team All-Henlopen, while Andrew Eshelman (16th, 17:59), Janin Rodriguez (19th, 22:12), James Hagen (22nd, 18:15) and Brandon Munce (24th, 18:25) each earned Hon. Mention.

Kevin Johnson, Mike Szczepanski, Dylan Hilligoss, Josh McCormick, Eric Nielson, Molly Fulton and Maddy Corporan ran career-best times. Overall, 34 MHSCCers ran their fastest Killens Pond time.
