Shelbyville Lady Bears Beat Morristown

The Lady Bears move their record to 7-3 Tuesday Night after defeating Morristown 47-44. The Bears had eight people score in the game led by Dana Gardner 17, LeAnn Douglas 14, Ashley Ayers 6, Laureen Rees 3, Laura John, Heather Carlson, and Lauren Murphy with 2 apiece,and Julie Snuffer 1. Morristown was led by Erin Nigh 18. The Bears next game is Saturday Night against Hamilton Southeastern JV tip 6PM. Varsity 7:30PM.

The New Palestine girls' basketball team brought its fast-break offense into Saturday, and it was just what the Golden Bears needed.

Lady Bears beat New Palestine 66-51

The Lady Golden Bears had a strong performance from start to finish Saturday over New Palestine. The bears led from start to finish 21-10 after one 33-24 at halftime 49-39 after three and the final 66-51. The bears were led in scoring by Ashley Ayers 16, Lauren Murphy 11, Julie Snuffer and Dana Gardner 9 apiece, Melanie Clark 8, Lauren Rees star of the game 5, and Heather Carlson 1. New Palestine was led in scoring by Sydney Lambert 16. The Lady Golden Bears move to (6-3 overall and 3-1 in HHC play). The Bears next game is Tuesday Night against county rival Morristown JV tip is 6PM. and Varsity at 7:30PM.
Girls' basketball sectionals are still two months away, but Columbus East has already made itself a favorite to advance past the first round of the state tourney.

The Lady Bears lost thier 2nd in a row Thursday at Garrett Gymnausium to Columbus East 52-42.The Bears were led in scoring by Dana Gardner and LeAnn Douglas with 9 apiece, Ashley Ayers 6, Julie Snuffer 5, Melanie Clark and Lauren Murphy with 4 apiece, Lauren Rees 3, and Laura John 2. Columbus East was led in scoring by Brittany Meyer 17. The Bears lost the 1st and 2nd quarters by 2 points each, tied the third quarter, and lost the last quarter by 6. The Lady Bears next game is a home game Saturday Dec. 11th against HHC foe New Palestine JV start 6 PM. Varsity Start 7:30 PM.
