Third-Quarter lapse dooms Bears

PLAINFIELD-- For most of the Plainfield- Shelbyville girls' basketball matchup Monday, it was difficult to tell which team was ranked No. 4 in the state and which squad had lost 4 of its last seven contests.

Bears fall to Quakers 50-41

Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears Trailed after one 10-5 Outscored the Quakers 12-6 in the second to lead 17-16 at halftime the bears were outscored 34-24 in the second half. The bears were led in scoring by LeAnn Douglas 17, Lauren Murphy 10, Ashley Ayers and Julie Snuffer 4 apiece, Melanie Clark and Laura John 2 apiece, Dana Gardner and Lauren Rees 1 apiece. Plainfield was led in scoring by Megan Brock 16. The lady bears return home January 6th To take on Rushville in HHC action. Have a safe and Happy New Year from Ron and all the Lady Golden Bears.
Hamilton Southeastern's Kahla Rodebush made thegirls' basketball Junior All- Star team last year.
The Bears were defeated by a very good Hamilton Southeastern team Saturday afternoon at Garrett Gymnausium led by Miss Basketball candidate Kahla Roudebush. After HSE led 36-20 at halftime the Bears played them even in the second half. The bears were led in scoring by Dana Gardner 17, Lauren Murphy 10, LeAnn Douglas 6, Julie Snuffer 4, Ashley Ayers 3, and Heather Carlson 2. Hamilton Southeastern was led by Kahla Roudebush 23. The Bears are now 7-4 overall and 2-1 in HHC play. The Bears are off until after Christmas when they travel to Plainfield Dec. 27th JV tip 6PM. Varsity tip 7:30.

Shelbyville Beats Morristown

MORRISTOWN --- Midway through the third quarter Tuesday, Shelbyville girls' basketball coach Michael Gaines was so upset with his team's performance against Morristown that no matter which ended up winning the game, the night would be labeled a disappointment for the Golden Bears.
