Pacers and Hollis End in 2-2 Tie

Posted by Dale Dubois at Sep 30, 2001 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
In a hard fought physical battle, the Pacers of Bedford would end in 2-2 tie with the Hollis Overlook. The Pacers once again had trouble getting numbers to the game. A total of eleven players would show for this home game. Management is reviewing player contracts to try and eliminate this problem in the future. The Pacers would get on the board first as Jeff Bailey would bury a perfect free kick from 25 yards out. The lead was short lived as Hollis marched down the field to find Shane unmarked inside the 18. He would head the ball in to tie the score at one a piece. The pacers would go up by one again as Jeff Bailey would hit a ball into the side netting with next to no angle available. It was nice to see Jeff taking it easy for the game. Hollis would come back once again to tie the score. The second half saw alot of physical play and yellow and red cards. Jeff Guild and Dale were issued yellows for their efforts and John Guild was naughtier than the rest and got a red card. The Pacers would hold on for the remaining 10 minutes playing short handed to preserve the tie. Next game is in Peobody against the Spartans. This should be an easy win if we can get a team to show up. Email whether or not you are going to the game.

PAC Lowell Pounds Pacers 6-0

Posted by Dale Dubois at Sep 24, 2001 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Pacers had a poor showing of numbers again Sunday, starting the game with 10 players, and ending loosing 6-0 against the Lowell team. A total of three players out of 21 said that they were not going to the game. Check my math but that leaves 18 not 10. We need a better showing for away games if we ever expect to get above Division 3. Anyway, we played like crap and lost 6-0. One yellow card was issued. See you Sunday for a must win against in state rival, Hollis. 9 AM start at Legacy. Don't bother emailing if your going to go or not.

Pacers Battle Billerica to a 1-1 Tie

Posted by Dale Dubois at Sep 16, 2001 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Pacers let up a goal in the closing minutes of the game to end in a tie with the Billerica Rovers yesterday. The Pacers showed up with an impressive number of players this week to start the game. But the Billerica team showed up to play also, playing alot stronger than their record suggests. The Pacers would get on the board first about midway through the first half. John Guild would take a shot that would rebound out past the 18. Rob Easton would step up out of the backfield to blast a low hard shot off the keeper from 20 yards out. Bertie O'Gorman would do what he does best and pick up the loose ball and tuck it home Add one to his Stats. The first half would end at 1-0 with Chris Cloutier playing strong in the net. The Billerica players tried to beat him far post, probably after reading the web site, but were unsuccessful. The second half would start out a little shaky and slow for the Pacers but the score would remain. The Pacers would have a number of opportunities, but were unable to finish. Jeff Bailey, Louis Correai, and Colin McHugh were all denied on a number of attempts. Then in the closing minutes of the game the Rovers would tie the score on a fluke play. This is how the match would end. The Pacers looked much better than in their previous match. Next Sunday will be a tough outing against the division leader, PAC Lowell on the road. So far only three players have said they are not going. Let Dale know if you are going or not. Send and email to DuboisEng@att.net Game is at 9 AM We will meet at the exit #3 Park and Ride at 8 PM

Peobody Outlast Pacers 3-2

Posted by Dale Dubois at Sep 11, 2001 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Pacers failed to show up with numbers this past Sunday as they dropped a game to the Peobody Spitting Club. The Pacers were missing a number of players who failed to inform anyone that they didn't intend to attend the game. The Pacers managed to get out to a 1-0 lead in the first half after Louis Correia buried a pass from John Guild. The score would remain 1-0 at the half. The second half saw the Skipping Club come back to tie after a hand ball penalty kick by the referee without a back bone. The Pacers came right back as Bertie O'Gorman sprinted down the right side of the field and beat the keeper up high with his shot. Peobody Skunks would tie on cross that found the net in a defensive laps in coverage. The final goal would come off a through ball to the striker to end the game at 3-2. There were a number of discussions at the end of the game by the Peobody team regarding the Pacers style of play. One plus, no yellow cards. We need to show up with numbers. Loosing to these loosers is pitiful. Let Peter or Dale know if you are not intending to show up for a game.
The Pacers will take on the winner of the southern division in the first round of the tounament this Sunday at 10 AM. The Pacers will have to travel to the Westwood field. Players are to meet a 8 AM at the Exit 3 Park and Ride. Let Peter know if you are not going to be there. FYI: Danvers will be dropping down out of our Division for the fall and the Peobody Sporting Club will be moving back up. The PAC Lowell team will be dropping down from Division 2 into our division....
