2016 USSSA FALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Elk Grove, CA...The 2016 season came to an end at the USSSA FALL CHAMPIONSHIPS this weekend where 22 teams came looking for the title and our girls went out with a bang ! !
After sweeping their pool on Saturday, with decisive victories versus Batbusters (8-2), Caligold (9-2) and Lincoln Loaded (9-8); They returned on Sunday with three more victories over Foothill Gold (6-4), USA Elite (7-2) and Lady Wolfpack (7-1).
This put them in the Championship Game, just like their previous outing. The game started with the Batbusters KG lead off batter scoring on an unearned run in the first inning. After that they battled for 90 minutes without either team being able to score. The Renegades out-hit their opponent 6-4 and turned an amazing Triple Play in the second inning; but battling exhaustion they were unable to put any runs on the board.
What an exciting way to end the year, the fans who were lucky enough to endure the 10 hours spent at the field on Sunday, sure got their money's worth! The future is looking bright for this talented group of girls and I can hardly wait to see what they can do in 2017.
