HR: VSC 1 (Anderson)

Valley Stream Central 5, Calhoun 0: Rob Inzerillo threw a one-hitter, walked none and struck out 11 as he faced one over the minimun. Jeff Anderson hit a two-run homer highlighting a four-run fifth inning to make it 5-0 for VSC (1-0) in Conference AA-III. Calhoun is 0-1.

Rob Inzerillo shut out Hicksville for 6 2/3 innings allowing only 3 hits and striking out 12.  Inzerillo was also 3-4 with 2 RBI. Andy Labeck belted a 2-run homer. Jeff Andersen drove in the first 2 runs for Central. Dan Kehoe continued his hot hitting with 2 hits.

Carlos Sanchez' control was outstanding as he walked only 1 in a complete game performance.  Sanchez was in a pitcher's duel with Long Beach's Evan Laude holding the visitors to 1 run going into the 7th when LB's cleanup hitter took him deep with the bases full.
