  Last year's finalists in the CIF Open Division Playoffs start of 2016 ranked first and second in the 2016 San Diego Union Preseason Baseball Rankings.

  The 2016 Mavericks are once again playing in the top Classic Division of the San Diego Lions Tournament.   Bracket C includes La Costa Canyon, Torrey Pines, Grossmont and Silverado.   The link to the tournament web site is found in the Links menu item. The Tournament runs from March 21st through March 24.

  The 2016 Maverick Varsity Baseball Team has accepted an invitation to play in the  California Boras Classic Baseball Tournament from March 29, 2016 through April 1, 2016.  borrasclassic.com. The winner of the 16 team Southern Divison will play the winner of the 16 team Northern Division for the unofficial state championship. borasclassic.com

  This is in addition to the Hilltop Tournament starting March 8, 2016 and the San Diego Lions Tournament starting March 21, 2016.

   Avocado West League play commences on April 12th, 2016 with three game series against Vista, Sage Creek, Rancho Buena Vista, El Camino, and Carlsbad.

   The CIF Playoffs will start May 24, 2016.
