As you may have heard by now, the Province of Ontario announced it would be temporarily moving to a modified Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopening which included closing indoor sport and recreational facilities (including gyms), museums and galleries beginning January 5, 2022. As a result, our SoccerCity facility and other Town facilities (the Leisure Centre, Latcham Art Centre, and the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum and Community Centre) will be closed as of midnight, January 4.

All registered and drop-in programming has been postponed until January 26 at this time. Any patron who was registered for a program will automatically receive a credit on their account for missed dates with the intention we will resume programs on January 26.

As we move towards that reopening date, I will have teams and schedules created to get our league going again to operate to the end of April – which leads me to the next bit of important news.

An official announcement was made on December 17, 2021 that the SoccerCity facility was sold to an investor which means the Town will not be operating programming at this location after April 2022. The programs currently in the facility will operate until the end of April.

I will continue to offer adult programming for the Town after that date and I’m certain there will be options for soccer players in the Town going forward. If you have any questions about the postponement, current season, registrations, or future offerings – please let me know.
