With the season now completely over, I wanted to say thank you to all members of the Vipers FC family. It has been fun filled season to say the least. I hope all of the players enjoyed themselves and improved as soccer players. I hope all of the family members enjoyed the games. They were all good games but one.
Congradulations to the team for a second place finish in the Turkey Shoot. That was such and exciting way to end the season with the penalty kick shoot out. We may not of come out on top but we played a whale of a game.
I wanted to wish all of you a very happy holiday season. I will be looking forward to seeing you again when our paths cross.
I hope as many as possible come back for next season.
So, until then, thank you and see you soon.

Here are the highlights from the parents meeting.

Uniforms. Please contact Ron Vetter with all of the uniform needs. Let him know also if you don’t need anything. Last years uniform is great if it still fits.

Please pack out all garbage after practices and games. The shchool district doesn’t like us to use their garbage cans.

I would like some volunteers for team parent(s). The only duties for the team parent would be to orginize a team potluck barbecue on Friday, Sept. 2 after practice and a team party at the end of the season. This is the last time I will mention it.

We have 18 players on the team this year. That is a lot of kids. We now have 2 team benches. I would like a family to volunteer for each bench to bring them to the games.

With 18 players playing time will be precious. I will make it as even as possible. If you skip a lot of practices, it will cost you in game time. I understand there will be other obligations at times. Please keep me in the loop.

If your son has an email address, please get it to me and I will send invitations to them to join the website. They can post messages and comment of things. They can also view the training videos that I will be regulary posting.

Referees. We as a team will be very tolerant of referees good or bad. Officiating is part of sports at all levels and calls are blown at all levels. Some will go for us and some will go against us. It is part of the game. Don’t yell at referees.

If your son wants to make some extra money Silver Lake Soccer is having a referee clinic at the end of the month. Check out the SLS website under the referee section.

The Turkey Shoot. The Turkey Shoot is a post season tounament held the weekend before Thanksgiving. I would like to play in this years tournament. The price last year was $475 per team. We would divide the cost evenly.

Sweatshirts. I didn’t mention sweatshirts at the meeting but I wanted to get them this season. I have talked to the printer and they will be $30 each. We will start working on them after all of the uniform stuff is complete.

I will have everyones contact info on this website in the document section. If you want to set up carpools or anything that is where you will find everyone.

I’m sure there is more but that is enough for now.

2. Every player improve.

3. Score at least 1 goal off of a corner kick.

4. Score at least 1 goal off of a header.

5. Put up at least 3 clean sheets.

Wow. Needles to say, I was very surprised to be the Silver Lake Soccer Club Coach Of The Year for 2010. Thank you to all of you who voted for me. It is a great honor and I’m very touched.

We had a lot of fun this season. The vipers FC are a great bunch of boys to spend time with and get to know.
Their parents are also a top notch group. I couldn’t be more happy being invlolved with all of you.
