I say this every year, but I will say it again. . . please add your own photos to the albums section. I try to take pictures when I can, but my skills are lacking!! Also, if you do not want your picture on here email me and I will delete it asap. The album I added for Coaches Classic is from the girls' races only. So, if anyone has pics of the guys please add them or email me and I will add them for you.

I do not know how coach does it, but I cannot send an email to everyone. It locks my email when I try. Here is the most important information about the Halloween meet: Bring treats!! There are approximately 70 runners. The parents spread out along the course and hand out the candy. The kids have a great time hanging out with friends! It is very slow paced. They mostly walk and talk, maybe some skipping or jogging, but not much. I will print a map and have copies available before they begin. Since we haven't run this course since last year's Halloween meet, many may not know the route. Parents pick a spot, drive to it if it is further away and wait for the group to trick or treat past.

Just a reminder that the first race begins at 8:30- girls JV
We want the athletes to be there by 7:45

Volunteers need to be at the Park by 7:45 as well

If you are a course monitor please see Coach Hines - he will take monitors to their stations on the Gator- He will begin placing monitors at 8 AM-he will be near the bleachers where the runners sit before practice

Those who have been helping at the finish line please see me at the finish line at 8 for last minute details.

Those monitoring the soccer fields will need to check with me around 8 as well.

Stephen Ussery is directing the traffic at the top of the hill and will only allow volunteers and handicapped to enter the lower soccer field area due to our limited parking space.

We may need more course monitors - Irmo's suppose to have several monitors but he is experiencing some difficulty getting committments - so please be flexible- we may need you!!

The Coaches Cross Country Poll for week two was released yesterday and the Chapin Girls are ranked 3rd in AAA while the boys are ranked 6th.Congratulations Eagles!!

If anyone took pictures at the scrimmage on Wednesday, please post them in the photo album! I try to take pictures of as many of the runners as I can, but I don't get everyone. Like any parent, I am focused on my own children in the race. I will continue to take pictures at the races and upload albums and you are ALWAYS encouraged to add your photos to the album!! If you have any problems, just let me know. Also, we were lucky to have Brad Cox taking photos as well. He takes wonderful photos at most of the Chapin events. If you have not seen his photos, you can see them on flickr . . . https://www.flickr.com/photos/fredhandbag/sets/
(I'm not sure that will work as a link, but you can copy/paste)

Important info from Coach LeGrand . . .

These next few days are going to be very hot and we will be making adjustments in what we do at practice. I want all parents to know that we will exercise due caution at practice. The mileage is about 2 miles max and the runners will hydrate between each mile . They will run(slowly) for 4 minutes then walk 1 minute. We want them to acclimate to the heat - it has been uncharacteristically cool this summer .We do not want to over do it in the dangerous heat.Practice will finish earlier than normal today and tomorrow due to the reduced workout.
