Team Chicago Academy-Vasco Head Coach, and High School coaching legend, Joe Moreau will go in search of his 6th IHSA State Title tonight at 7pm at North Central College against the defending champion New Trier. And Coach Moreau will do so with a Team Chicago-laden squad as the Wildcats start nine Team Chicago players and have three more contributing off the bench. In the interest of fairness, it should be noted that the starting line-up is rounded out by NSA Jaguars stars Dannah Williams and Lauren Ciesla who have both been nothing short of spectacular for the Wildcats all year.

The Team Chicago influence on Coach Moreau’s successful Neuqua squad is felt in every line on the field. Co-captains and Team Chicago Academy-Internacional stars Hannah Parrish (GK) and Sophia Moreau help anchor the back-line with Internacional teammate Tati Espinoza and Team Chicago Academy-Brasilia captain Nicole Mondi.

In the midfield Team Chicago Academy-Internacional’s Anna Toerslev patrols the center while Team Chicago Academy-Brasilia’s Veda Tappin and Team Chicago Academy-Cruzeiro’s Jamie Goralski provide the dangerous flank play.

And up top Team Chicago Academy-Internacional’s Kiley Czerwinski leads the attack ably supported by Team Chicago Academy-Cruzeiro’s Alyssa Bombacino.

Off the bench the Wildcats get Team Chicago contributions from Team Chicago Academy-Brasilia forward Haley Singer, and Team Chicago Academy-Cruzeiro’s Erin “Bean” Sweda and Madison Zaleski.

In last night’s 3-1 semi-final win over Collinsville the Team Chicago influence was once again clear on the score sheet, as Kiley Czerwinski and Anna Toerslev both netted and Alyssa Bombacino earned Chicagoland Soccer – MVP of the Match honors with three assists in addition to Jamie Goralski’s assist.

Team Chicago wishes Coach Moreau and all the TC girls all the best in tonight’s final. You have have done the club so proud. Your success, as well as the success of many of the other local H.S. programs on both the boys and the girls side (including Waubonsie Valley and Naperville North’s IHSA State Titles) over the past 7 years is at least in part a direct result of Team Chicago’s commitment to the support of high school soccer. While many elite clubs – both local and across the country – either deny or strongly discourage their players from participating in high school soccer, Team Chicago will continue to encourage our players to play high school soccer.

Tonight we are all Wildcats! Go Joe, Go!
