2017 Summer Football Workout Schedule is released.

On February 19-20, the Chapin Eagles visited Eastside High School in Taylors, SC for the Upper State Individual tournament and returned home with 6 State Qualifiers. The Eagles were lead by Second-Place finishers Paul Collingwood (126 pounds) and Hank Manos (285 pounds). Taylor Cabe (138 pounds), and Cole Haile (182 pounds) each won his respective consolation brackets to place third. Noel Hurley (113 pounds), Dylan Whitcomb (120 pounds) rounded out Chapin’s qualifiers with fourth-place finishes.

The Eagles provided many bouts of exciting wrestling, including a rarely seen leg cradle for a pin, which was executed by AJ Spearman on Friday night. Chapin earned 27 victories at the tournament and finished fourth in team standings.

The State Tournament will be held on February 26-27 in Anderson, SC where eight wrestlers from each weight class will square off to battle for the title of State Champion. Go Eagles.

At 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6 the sixth-ranked Chapin Eagles will host the first two rounds of the State Duals Tournament. The Eagles’ first opponent is Berea. If Chapin is victorious, the opponent for Round 2 will be the winner of the Union County-Palmetto contest. Round 2 will begin immediately after Round 1 is completed.

Prior to the first match, Chapin will recognize its senior wrestlers. Please plan to attend and support our outstanding 23-3 team. Let’s Pack The House!

Chapin Qualifies Wrestlers from Every Weight Class
for Upper State Tournament

On January 30, the Chapin Eagles wrestled tenaciously and qualified wrestlers from all 14 weight classifications for the Upper State Individual Tournament. Seven Eagles finished first: Noel Hurley, Dylan Whitcomb, Cole Hodges, Taylor Cabe, A.J. Spearman, Nick Edenfield, and Hank Manos. Second Place finishers were Paul Collingwood, Kyle Nichols, and Cole Haile. Sam LaRosa and Matthew Hutton finished third and Jake Watson and Grant Frick finished fourth. The Upper State tournament will include the 16 top wrestlers from 4 regions and will be a significant test as the best of the upstate grapple for a berth in the State Finals. The tournament will be held in Taylors, SC at Eastside High School on February 19-20. The top four finishers will qualify for the State Finals, which will be held in Anderson, SC on February 27-28.

On Saturday, February 6, Chapin will host the first two rounds of the Team (Dual) State Tournament. Chapin will wrestle Berea in Round One at 11 a.m. If Chapin wins, they will wrestle the winner of the Palmetto-Union County match immediately following Round One. The Eagles also will recognize our Seniors prior to the competition.

Basketball games moved

Boys and girls varsity basketball games are moved from 1/22 to tonight, 1/26 due to inclement weather last week. Games will be held at Richland Northeast High School.
