After finishing 3rd in regular season, Fortaleza had the opportunity to participate in Naperville Yard’s indoor playoffs. After advancing from a bizarre semifinal situation, Fortaleza met NSA in the championship match. Fortaleza went up early 1-0 on a great shot by Maya Moore, but NSA came back to tie the game mid-match on a corner kick. It was a very physical match, but Fortaleza played their hearts out and ended the game in a 1-1 tie. Fortaleza lost in a penalty kick shootout but played well against a team they lost to 6-1 earlier in the season. It’s an exciting way to end the indoor season and kick off spring outdoor!
