MT SAC Prelims Tomorrow

Posted by Matthew White at Apr 14, 2016 7:51PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Good Evening Shark Families,
I wanted to thank everyone that participated in a great senior meet this evening and an extra thank you to the amazing senior parents that put it all on. It is hard to believe that so many of our amazing kids are seniors and many have been with me for the last four years.

Tomorrow Varsity will be traveling to Mt SAC for the Meet of Champions. This is a huge meet and we look forward to defending our team title. If you don’t know, it is the largest high school meet on the west coast and we have won the team championship the last four years. As every year, we leave school around 10:30 AM and have an early team lunch at Panera before heading to the meet. Please send your swimmer with a few dollars if they wish to eat with the everyone else. The meet will start around 2:00 PM, warm ups at 12:00, and should finish around 7:30 PM. Finals, top 27, will return Saturday afternoon to compete for points. JV will swim time finals Saturday morning and should be at the pool around 6:30 AM. Parking is 4 dollars but there is no fee to watch. If you have any question just send me an email and I hope to see many of you there.
Thank you and GO SHARKS!

Hello Sharks,
Shark Infested Waters
After a solid meet yesterday we are about half way through the season. I would like to share with you that we have set a new team record for the most money raised for our Shark Infested Waters Fundraiser. As of today we have hit 12,220 dollars!!! Our team minimum goal was 8,500 and if each person raised the 150 we would be at 12,750, so we almost hit that high number. GREAT JOB!!! I also would like to give a shout our to Andrew Doerr, Nicho Photopulos, and Donald Young for all raising over 400 dollars each!! Way to go boys!

Varsity Swim Meet at RCC:
Swimmers need to be at the pool at 7:15 and will be warming up around 7:30. Coach Nicho will run the warm up. There are 10 schools currently in the meet, so we should have some good competition. The meet is scheduled to be over at 1:00 PM. See you there!!

Spring Break:
First, we are going to reschedule team picture day.
The practice for the JV Boys will be 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM Monday -Thursday. JV Girls will swim 9:30-11:30 Monday – Thursday. Varsity will swim Monday 7:30-9:30, Tuesday 7:30-9:30 then weights 9:45 -10:45, Wednesday 7:30 – 9:30, Thursday 7:30 – 9:30 then weights 9:45-10:45. Friday is off for all teams.

PLEASE remember that if you are in town these practices are mandatory unless you have talked to a coach to clear your absence. If you are going to be out of town then make sure that you are communicating so the coaches can get the kids workouts. Spring Break is an important training time for the season.

Parents, thank you for your support and please keep encouraging your kids to keep communicating with coaches.

Swim Parents and Swimmers

Posted by Matthew White at Mar 21, 2016 4:29PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Good Afternoon Swim Parents,
As we continue with the season I want to stress to you how important it is for your swimmer to communicate with me or their coach when they are not going to be at practice or fulfill the practice agreement that we may have with them. I have spent a lot of time talking to the swimmers over the last few weeks about this and for some communication is very hard. I need your help reminding the swimmer that they need to communicate with their coaches and that practice is not voluntary. At this point, if a swimmer misses a practice and does not communicate with the coach, they will sit out of the next meet until they make the practice up. It is important that everyone is at practice and working as a team to become the best that program we can. I appreciate your support and understanding in this manner. If you have any questions, please email at any time.
Thank you and GO SHARKS!!
