Time to take a bow
I hope this message finds all the kids happy and healthy. It has been a while since you last heard from me about our run last year. As I stated in my last message out to the group we had one more event to enjoy together as a team. Little League day is this Saturday and as is custom the kids will be recognized for their success last year during opening ceremonies. It is a pretty big deal since we haven’t had the pleasure of celebrating a D12 victory in quite a while.
We would like the kids to find the medals that they earned last year and bring them to the event. If you can’t find one we will have a “stand in” medal available. Just let me know if you need a stand in medal. I will be there and collect the medals before the start of the ceremony.
Most of the team is scheduled to be there with their respective teams this year but we do have a couple of guys that are not playing in the league and definitely want them there. It wouldn’t be a team effort without everybody.
The plan for the day includes the Parade of Teams, Welcoming of Guests, LL Pledge, First Pitch, and National Anthem as it always does. In addition, following the LL Pledge we will call up the kids and re present their medals. Following the medals the kids will present back to the league the D12 Tournament Banner.
As usual the kids are asked to be at the field at 8am.
Please confirm your attendance via return email or phone call and let me know if you need a stand in medal.
Thanks,
GW
Well our run has ended. We finished up with 8 wins and 2 losses. We are District 12 Champions and took 3rd in Section 5. Congratulations to all of you.
We believe you all learned how to win with honor and lose with dignity. We hope you all progressed as ballplayers and have a little better understanding on how to succeed at the next level where ever that may be.
As a team you all gave your best effort and should be very proud of your accomplishments.
Next up is presenting the Championship Banner to Los Gatos Little League during Little League Day 2011. Be loud and proud on that day.
This was the first real test of the boys. They played a fine game against a good opponent. Hunter battled head to head with the Saratoga’s number one starter for 5 innings and Troy was able finish the game and get the win. The team knew it was going to win and never lost confidence. Wolfie’s walk in the sixth started us off and Jake’s clutch hit coupled with Ian’s speed tied the game up. Troy came up with the big hit to drive in the winning run. Nice way to bring a flag back to LGLL for the first time in 5 years.
Again another fine effort form the boys. The pitching has been spectacular. Troy, Hunter, and Ryan kept the pitch counts low and did not issue a walk again tonight holding Quito to three hits and one run. The hitting again was spread throughout the line up with two big bombs by Hunter and Troy.
Absolutely a dominating performance from the boys tonight over a team that has not lost in D12 tournament play, ever. As a team they banged out 13 hits in 21 at bats. Hits were spread up and down the line up with Nate and Hunter pacing the group with three each. In addition to his three hits, Hunter drove in six runs and scored two. Nate was close behind with three runs scored and two RBIs. The boys made great plays on defense. Chris and Keenan were able to get the ball back into the infield quick enough to hold two hard hit balls to doubles stifling rallies and Ian took us home with two fine catches to finish off Saratoga in the forth. All in all a fantastic game from the boys.
