Pac Rim Field lacrosse registration is now open!

Peninsula players are part of the PacRim Field Lacrosse catchment… and registration for the 2017-2018 Field Lacrosse season is NOW OPEN

How long is the season?
The season starts in September and provincials (for U13 and older) are in February. U11 teams usually wrap up in January.

How much of a time commitment is it?
Generally speaking, teams practice once a week and have games another day of the week.

How is it different from box lacrosse?
Instead of 5 players and a goalie, field lacrosse has 3 attack positions that stay in the offensive half of the field, 3 midfield positions that can travel the whole field, 3 defensive positions that stay in the defensive half of the field, and a goalie. Goalies wear less equipment and can run more.

Can I use the same equipment as box lacrosse?
Most of the same equipment can be used from box lacrosse. Players playing defense use longer sticks (“poles”), which can usually be borrowed from the association, another player, or a coach until the player settles into the role. We do ask that all PacRim players wear PacRim shorts, which are available for purchase. Cleats are necessary for the wet grass fields. While field lacrosse helmets exist, they are not mandatory. CSA hockey helmets with CSA lacrosse or hockey face masks are allowed.
