Lions Pride Grappling is pleased to announce a partnership that will benefit our athletes, our parents and our local coaches. As coaches we sometimes feel that “we know best” because we have positive results. The best coaches realize their limitations and surround themselves with those that can bring knowledge to their program to ensure positive results.

Lions Pride has partnered with a leader in the conditioning and Nutrition world. As a coach we tend to institute what we knew worked back in the day. Remember our job is to teach wrestling and we hone that skill. But what we are not is Master Nutritionists or Master Fitness experts. Time s have changed and we understand more about the human body then we ever have. We now know we can get more results with less work if done correctly. This is why we have partnered with Focus Fitness and Steward Breeding. He IS cutting edge knowledge in the world of conditioning and nutrition.

With that we are instituting a program that is not being done at the High School level but is being done at the College and Professional level. Mind Conditioning and Performance Psychology with Cr. Tiffany Breeding. She will work with our athletes to give them a series of dynamic and interactive mental training sessions to our athletes. In just 4 half hour sessions of intensive training, athletes will be armed with the skills and techniques they need to face any level of competition, and excel. Goal setting, attention/concentration training, visualization and anxiety reduction are only a few of the essential skills they will gain from this invaluable mental conditioning program.

CONGRATULATIONS to Kendall Lawrence who came up big at the South East Regionals in Atlanta with a Gold in Freestyle. Kendall pinned a nationally ranked heavy weight in the finals to take the Title.

Also great performances by the following wrestlers:
Josue Brown
Avery Martin (Outstanding Performance)
Trenton Bell
Glen Rury-Miller
Ronquai Love

Great comeback win by Josue Brown over the 2 Time GA State Champion in a 0-1, 1-0, 5-0 victory. Good luck to Josue as he heads to Oklahoma City on the Junior National Teams and then onto UTC where he will continue to represent TN as a Division I Wrestler.

We also have the honor to be sending 6 of our wrestlers onto the Cadet and Junior National Teams. These Folks placed in the top of their weight classes at the TWF State Freestyle and Greco-Roman State Championships and we wish them luck as they head down to face the toughest competition they have ever seen on a National Level.
