Bottle Drive Update
We have 6 people confirmed for this coming Saturday and 2 are making other arrangements to raise some funds. If you want to bring bottles down to Chasers this week prior to the bottle drive, arrangements have been made for you to leave it under the team name of Vernon United Boys 1999. If you do it after, it’s up to you to get the money to us.
We also have only 3 trucks at the moment. We need more buy in from boys and parents to make this work. We meet at Chasers at 8:30 sharp in order to organize the plan of attack.
I’ve had some questions as to the necessity of this – we are just trying to offset the some of the costs, and having the boys work a little for it is never a bad thing.
2 Tournaments Added
We have our first 2 tournaments on the board. We’ll play in the Whitecaps Easter Cup in Surrey on April 6-8. This will be a great gage to see where we are at heading into the season and then we’ll also play in the Slurpee Cup in Kamloops on May 19-21. I guess we are the defending champs for this one; no pressure boys. Both tournaments are on long weekends when we don’t have regularly scheduled games. Mark your calendars and get excited for some soccer.
Happy New Year team! Our indoor sessions will begin next week on Thu the 12th at 5pm at the Vantage One facility and will run once a week for an hour. See you there and please be on time as we only have 60 mins. If you have a conflict and cannot attend please let Coach Hirschkorn know.
Parent Meeting
Hi there:
Welcome to those who are new to Vernon United soccer and welcome back to those who have been part of the program over the past couple years. Our roster is set with 2 spots still to be filled in the spring. For now we are having a parent meeting next Sat, Nov 19th @ 1:30pm at the indoor facility. I have attached the relevant documents which we need you to fill out and bring with you to the meeting. On those forms where it says to make cheque payable to team bank account, make those cheques out to “Vernon United 1999 Boys.” On the parent meeting info form, please disregard the times posted as our meeting is starting at 1:30pm. So, what to bring? The following:
The 2012 Rep registration form with $275 cheque payable to NOYSA. (Note: this cheque may be post-dated to Mar 1, 2012)
The 2012 Player uniform order form with appropriate amount of cheque payable to “Vernon United 1999 Boys.” (Note: Jerseys, Shorts & Socks are mandatory)

Don’t forget to read the parent expectations form and the meeting info form as this will help expedite things at the meeting. We have not settled on team fees as we are still considering the number of tournaments we will enter. We should have more information coming on this very soon; by the meeting at the latest(hopefully). We will collect the paperwork at the meeting. I will also add these documents to our website on the team pages which you either should have a link to already or an invitation to join.
