CLEAR LAKE'S HOUSTON INVITATIONAL

Game Rules 

Rules governing US Lacrosse will apply to this tournament. All teams MUST check in at the Headquarters Tent 30 minutes before their first game. (hand in waivers, etc.).  Tournament fees must be paid in full and paperwork complete or team will not be allowed to play.  

• All games will be played at the University of Houston intramural fields.
• Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 preliminary games.
• All games will be 22 minute halves- running time, with a 5 minute half time.
• Time will be kept from a central horn.  There will be no horn for substitutions.
• Warning horn will sound 1 minute prior to game and with 2 minutes left in each half.
• Penalties will be time and a half time and will be kept by the scorekeeper at each field.
• Teams are allotted one 20 second timeout per half, with no timeouts in the last 2 minutes of the game.  Penalty time is stopped during time outs.
• All other regular season rules are in effect.
• Jerseys must have numbers on both sides.
• Mouth guards must be worn by all players.
• Teams are responsible for their own ice and trainers.
• Teams to warm-up on game fields as soon as they become available, we will only have 5-7 minutes to transition teams on and off the fields between games.  There will be areas available for warm-up and line drills, in and around the playing fields.  Please be ready to transition on and off the fields as quickly as possible.
• Championships will be determined by best win/loss record and second best record.  Ties will be decided by best net score (difference between total goals scored and total goals allowed in the first three matches.
• Fighting of any kind will result in automatic expulsion from the tournament; this applies to players, coaches, and parents.
• Each team must provide a scorekeeper for their game.

• Championship games will be 22 minute halves -running time.

• Time will stop for timeouts—one 20 second timeout per half for each team
• “Horn” rule will not be in effect
• Trophies will be given for 1^st and 2^nd place in all divisions.

• Each team is responsible for their fans. CLLA expects exemplary sportsmanship from  all players, coaches and parents.  The tournament directors reserve the right to expel anyone who displays poor sportsmanship.
• Vulgar and/or abusive language is prohibited.
• Spectators must remain behind the “spectator” line (6 yards from playing field).
• Alcohol is prohibited on the University of Houston intramural athletic fields during this event.
• Spectators will be asked to leave the premises if they do not abide by the guidelines.
• No parking on grassy areas or in designated “No Parking” areas.
• NO PETS! This is a University of Houston policy.
