Spring break has come and gone. The Cougar track team enters phase two of periodization, the competetition phase, with a series of strenth-building workouts that bring the sprinters and distance runners together with workouts planned by distance Coach Tichenor. In a few weeks, the two groups will meet again in the final phase, the peaking period as Coach Mo will train the team for finishing speed as the Cougars get ready for championship meets in May.imageimageimage

PC runs at North Canyon vs Region & 2A rivals

Cougar track, fresh off of an early schedule that included the finest in 5A, 4A and 3A track & field competition, takes on Scottsdale Christian, Northwest Christian, Bourgade Catholic and Willow Creek in a mathchup at North Canyon High School. The Cougars unveil a few surprises. Megan Van Hofwagen in the 200, Sam Ledford in the low hurdles, CY Speck throws and Matt Kredit the 200. The boys win the meet, the girls place 3rd and the team is beginning to take shape. With more surprises in store for the second half of the seaon, the team prepares for spring break. Upon their return, the Cougars plan to leave a mark on the Metro.image
