The Cougars roll up over 150 combined girls/boys points in their "regular season" finale. The boys team used it's depth in key events to nearly double the scoring output of rival Horizon Honors 131-73. Seligman, a power in the throws, placed third with 44 points. The annual event also meant that this was the final meet for seniors Paul Bell, Brant Frazee, Alex Anderson, Thomas Ness & Mike Stahl. Bell won the 3200 by nearly a minute, Frazee was third. The underclassmen were led by Matt Kredits double wins at 100 & 200 meters. Kredit, Anderson and Jordan Mitchell placed 1-2-3 in the 200. The relays were dominant also, as the boys took first & second in the 4x800 and first in the 4x100. The 4x400 team was edged out by Horizon. A young group of hurdlers that included Chad Guzman, Joe Vermeer, Nate Jonovich and Caleb Williams placed 3rd through 6th in the 300 lows. The girls team participated with a small group. Domoneek Staten won the 100 and was second in the 200 in showdowns with Horizon's all-state hurdler Katie Berkey. Miler/half miler Kristen Shook placed 8th on the 400...getting in a little speedwork before regionals. Another freshman, Alex Cisco continued to learn the hurdles, finishing in the top in the highs & the lows. imageimage
