 REGISTRATION FOR 2013 Spring SEASON BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL

  • Player's League Age is determined on April 30th, 2013. Softball age is determined on December 31st, 2012

Example:

  • 6 year olds (turning 6 by 4/30/2013) with a season of experience will be allowed to apply for the Farm Division. 
  • 8 year olds (turning 8 by 4/30/2013) will be allowed to apply for the Minor Division. 
  • January - Spring season registrations (Every Saturday in January)
  • February - tryouts and draft (8-14 year olds)
  • March - Spring games begin     
  • June - regular season ends and tournaments begin
  • August - Fall season registrations
  • September - Fall games begin
  • November - Fall games end before Thanksgiving

Minor Divisions

MVLL Ground Rules - Spring 2012

 

SAFETY

1.       NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND! At no time will any player be left for a parent to pick up unless the Manager or an approved Volunteer is present. The Manager is responsible for all players from the start of practice to the time that they are picked up by their parent or guardian. Managers should encourage parents to stay at practice.

2.       At no time will any player have a bat in their hand unless they are at bat or on their way to the batter’s box.  Little League rules strictly forbid an on deck batter in all divisions lower than Juniors.

3.       If at anytime a child is injured during a game, at practice, or while in the care of the Manager or volunteer, an incident form must be filled out immediately and the League must be notified via text, voicemail or email. Further, you must notify the Player Agent or any other board member if present and go over the incident report prior to turning into Safety Officer.

FIELD

1.       Home team sets up the field. Visitors pick up the field. *Note: Works a lot better if both teams help with both.

2.       Home team provides Scorekeeper. Scorekeeper will be Official Pitch counter.

3.       Home team supplies one “League provided NEW” baseball. Visitors provide one serviceable back-up baseball.

4.       Managers are responsible for their own dugouts. Make sure they are picked up after each game.

PLAYING RULES

 

1.       All Playing rules will be in accordance with the 2012 Little League Rule Book

2.       Both teams will have their line-ups and pitching Logs completed and turned in to the scorekeeper 10 minutes PRIOR to the start of the game. Any player arriving after this will automatically be put at the bottom of the lineup.

3.       All scores will be called into 57-Catch within 24 of the end of the game by the winning manager

 

PITCHING

1.       Pitching logs will be kept and up to date.

2.       Pitching rules will be in accordance with the Little league Rule book.

3.       In accordance with the pitching rules. The official scorekeeper and official pitch counter have the duty of calling time and notifying the umpire if any pitcher exceeds there total pitch count or is not eligible to pitch, prior to the next pitch. This does not exclude the Manager if using an illegal pitcher from liability.

GAME LENGTH

1.       No new inning may start after 1 hour and 45 minutes.

2.       The City of Moreno Valley or MVLL will determine rainouts. Generally, games will continue unless there is downpour, mud, or lightning.

3.       The city of Moreno Valley field Hotline number is 413-3730. If you hear nothing, assume that the fields are playable.

d.       Coaches are allowed on the field for instructional purposes only. Do not touch or interfere with any player or ball.

e.        Bases are at 60’.

GAME LENGTH

1.      No new inning will start after 1 Hour. 1 Hour 15 minutes dead Stop.

2.      Rainouts will be attempted to make up.

3.      The City of Moreno Valley will determine rainouts.

PLAYING RULES

1.    All players must utilize the tee during games. Coach pitch will not be allowed.

2.    When on defense all players may play a position.

3.    No score shall be kept during games; however, outs should be enforced for learning purposes only.

4.    No T-ball player shall play the same defensive position more than one inning per game.

5.    Each team will bat through the lineup each inning; they exchange offensive and defensive position.

6.    All offensive players must wear a batting helmet when on the bases or at bat.

7.    Only approved MVLL volunteers allowed on the field.

8.    There are no protests allowed in the T-Ball Division.

9.    NO HEAD FIRST SLIDING at any base will be allowed.

10.  Offensive/ Defensive coaches are not allowed to physically assist any batter or runner.

11.  No on deck batting will be allowed.

12.  Only little league T-balls will used during practices and games.

13.  The offensive team will bat all present players that are listed on the line up roster. There is no three out rule. Any batter or runner who makes an out is considered out and will not occupy any base or score any runs.

14.  All other rules will be in accordance with the 2012 Little league Rule book.

 

PITCHING:

NO pitching rules apply, but one player will occupy the position of Pitcher.
