Spring baseball, long considered the traditional Little League for millions of aspiring baseball players is the highlight of the youth baseball year. At New Rochelle Little League the season begins with the opening day ceremonies. All teams and coaches are announced as they parade through the center field fence onto the field.

Various dignitaries are honored and the "First Pitch" is thrown out. This year, the 2013 City Champions--the Major League (Little League) winning Red Sox will be honored.  Also the NRLL 12U District 21 Champions and NYS Section 4 Finalists as well as  the NRLL 11U District 21 champions will be honored.

The Spring Season ends in mid-June and the players that have been chosen to represent New Rochelle in the NYS and National Little League Tournaments begin practice. This year, players aged 9 through 12 are expected to be eligible to compete. The player must be a resident of New Rochelle who played in the majority of the Spring baseball games.
