Thanks!!!

Posted by Dan Quarella at Aug 6, 2016 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
A single word can make someone feel appreciated, feel like their unselfish act didn't go unnoticed, feel like they made a difference in a child's day. I remind my players to make sure they thank their parents for the ride to the game or practice. When a player comes up to me after a game and says "Thanks Coach," it makes me feel better than any hit, run, or pitch thrown in the game. So Thanks Wickford Little League community - players, sponsors, parents, volunteers, coaches - for making baseball an important part of your lives. Thanks to Jan Fucile Swartz for the amazing photo.

The 9U Wickford Little League St. Greg's team finished strong in tournament play this weekend, with a hard fought 11-10 win over West Warwick on Sunday. A group effort on the mound, patient at bats by the entire team and timely hits by Chris Ciarniello and Brandon Venditto helped lead the way to victory. In the tournament opener Friday night, the team lost a hard fought game to St. Greg's after facing some tough late inning pitching. Last night, the team lost a heartbreaker to North Providence by 1 run in the bottom of the last inning. The team did a great job staying positive, staying together, and pulling off a victory Sunday.
GO WICKFORD!
