ATTENTION PARENTS

Posted by Michael Kahler at Feb 24, 2011 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

We are no longer accepting registrations. All teams in each division are completely full and games will begin on March 14th. Once the game schedules have been completed and approved they will be downloadable from this website under the Handouts section.

Our 2011 Little League Baseball Season officially began with our Opening Ceremonies on Saturday, January 29th. If you were unable to attend don't fret, your coaches should be contacting their players shortly. Please allow our team managers/coaches time to get organized and situated. They will contact you as soon as they have everything they require to begin practicing. The entire month of Feburary is dedicated to practices. Games do not begin until the 2nd week in March (after the mid-winter fair has finished).  Remember, our coaches, umpires, board members and everyone else associated with Little League are VOLUNTEERS. These volunteers have their own families and jobs. They go out of their way to make Imperial Little League a great experience for your children. So please be kind to them.

Fields Require Daily Maintenance

Posted by Jim Spence at Apr 1, 2008 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Despite what many may think, we are the groundskeepers on our fields. The Parks and Recreation Department will mow the grass, but they do not maintain any of the infield clay, mounds, or batters' boxes. That responsibility is ours. We must all do our share to help keep the fields in good condition. This requires raking and dragging the infield, raking and packing the pitchers mound, and watering the clay every night. Field #2 on 14th Street needs extra attention from the Minor B coaches since the clay on the field is relatively new and dragging and watering is extremely important to make sure the clay packs in correctly and doesn't get blown away during our frequent winds. Every field should have the tools needed to do the work, please make sure it gets done when it is your team's responsibility.

Practice Guidelines During Regular Season

Posted by Jim Spence at Mar 12, 2008 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Now that the regular season is underway, we do not have a set practice schedule. The League does have some guidelines that will help. In the Major division the Major field is available for practice before the scheduled game. If you are the home team you will have the field on the day prior to your game. You will have to be off the field by 5:30 PM. If you are the visiting team you will have the batting cage on the day prior to your game. Again, you will have to be out of the cage by 5:30 PM. On the Friday doubleheader nights the teams playing the 6:00 PM game will follow this guideline. The 8:00 PM teams will have to find other places to practice.  Ben Hulse is an option for the Major teams, but please keep in mind that there are Minor A teams practicing there. We will reserve the southern most backstop at Ben Hulse for the majors. Please use good judgement and maintain a safe practice environment for everyone. We are still reserving TL Waggoner and the Joshua Tree Park for our Minor B teams.

Visitor and Home Field Duties

Posted by Jim Spence at Mar 10, 2008 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

At every game, both teams have duties before and after the game. The Visitors have before game field maintenance. This includes placing the bases, chalking the field, and the raising/lowering of the American Flag. The Home teams duties include Snack Bar, official scorekeeper and pitch counter, and after game maintenance. After game maintenance includes putting away bases, dragging field (make sure to put in base plugs first!), repairing mound, and watering the infield. Both teams have the responsibility of cleaning out their dugouts.

Also, the Home team will occupy the third base dugout and the Visitors will be in the first base dugout
