2009 Spring Travel Baseball (NEBAS)

2009 SPRING TRAVEL BASEBALL (NEBAS):

 

 

Ø      Tenafly Little League will enter their Travel teams in the North East Bergen All Stars (NEBAS) League and league information can be found at http://www.eteamz.com/nebas.

 

Ø      The Spring Travel season will start Sunday March 29th and will have a 10 game schedule, timing just to end as Summer NEBAS begins.  Tenafly Travel Baseball will run concurrent with the Tenafly Town Recreation Baseball season. 

 

Ø      The FEE for 2009 Spring Travel is $125. 

2009 Spring Travel Fees are NOT included in the general recreation registration fees.

 

Ø      AGE CUT-OFF for NEBAS is May 1:          

 

o       Player must be that age or under as of May 1, 2009.  A player may "play up" an age level but they cannot "play down" under any circumstances. 

 

o       Teams will be entered in the following age groups:

8U, 9U Intermediate, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U

 

 

Ø      DIVISION / LEVEL INFO:

       

o       Pee Wee A:        8U                   (1st & 2nd Graders)

§         Pee Wee A League players shall be eight (8) or under with no player becoming nine (9) before May 1, 2009.

 

o       Minor B Inter:    9U                   (3rd Grade with some 4th Graders)

§         Minor B players shall be nine (9) or under with no player becoming ten (10) before May 1, 2009.

 

o       Minor B:              9U                   (3rd Grade with some 4th Graders)

§         Minor B players shall be nine (9) or under with no player becoming ten (10) before May 1, 2009.

 

o       Minor A:              10U                 (4th Grade with some 5th Graders)

§         Minor A players shall be ten (10) or under with no player becoming eleven (11) before May 1, 2009.

 

o       Major B:              11U                 (5th Grade with some 6th Graders)

§         Major B players shall be eleven (11) or under with no player becoming twelve (12) before May 1, 2009.

 

o       Major A:              12U                 (6th Grade with some 7th Graders)

§         Major A players shall be twelve (12) or under with no player becoming thirteen (13) before May 1, 2009.

 

o       Junior A:             13U                 (7th Grade with some 8th Graders)

§         Junior A players shall be thirteen (13) or under with no player becoming fourteen (14) before May 1, 2009.

 

o       Senior A:             14U                 (8th Grade with some 9th Graders)

§         Senior A players shall be fourteen (14) or under with no player becoming fifteen (15) before May 1, 2009.

       

 

Ø      SCHEDULE:     

 

o       The 10 game regular season will begin on Sunday March 29 and continue through Sunday June 14th.  We will not play on Easter Sunday (April 12th) or the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend (May 24th) but we will play on Mothers Day. 

 

 

Ø      GAME DAYS:    

 

o       Games will be played on Sundays.

Ø      BASEBALL BAT SIZE REGULATIONS:    

 

o       NEBAS rules do not address this, Little League rules do.  You can find these rules at:

o       Pee Wee A (8U) thru Major A&B (11U & 12U):     

§         Bat must be Little League approved and the diameter of the barrel cannot exceed 2 1/4".

 

o       Junior (13U):     Bat Rules will be a 2 5/8” barrel (-5) allowance.

 

o       Senior (14U):     Bat Rules will use the High School guidelines of (-3) BESR certified.

 

 

Ø      BASEBALL FIELD SIZE AND UMPIRES:

o       8U             40/60              1 umpire

o       9U             46/60              1 umpire

o       10U           46/60              1 umpire

o       11U           46/60              2 umpires

o       12U           46/60              2 umpires

2009 SUMMER TRAVEL (NEBAS):

 

Ø       Tenafly Little League will enter their Travel teams in the North East Bergen All Stars (NEBAS) League and league information can be found at http://www.eteamz.com/nebas.

 

Ø       Tryouts for the Tenafly Summer Travel Teams will be held on Sunday May 17th.  Those players

      who played on Tenafly Spring Travel Teams DO NOT need to attend these tryouts.  Please note  

      that based on the outcome of the tryouts, these travel players may be asked to tryout at a later

      date.  For more information on Summer Travel tryouts, please visit the 2009 Summer Travel

      Tryout folder on the menu to the left.

§         The Pee Wee B level is structured as a clinical league with its primary objective to further educate children in the basics of baseball and to prepare them for the next level of competition.  Coach pitch.  No standings or playoffs. 

 

o       Pee Wee A:        8U                   (1st & 2nd Graders)

§         Pee Wee A League players shall be eight (8) or under with no player becoming nine (9) before May 1, 2009.

 

o       Minor B:              9U                   (3rd Grade with some 4th Graders)

§         Minor B players shall be nine (9) or under with no player becoming ten (10) before May 1, 2009.

o       12 game schedule for the Pee Wee, Minor and Major Levels

o       15 game schedule for the Junior and Senior Levels

o       No games scheduled on July 4th Weekend

o       Regular Season ends Saturday July 18th

 

 

Ø      PLAYOFFS:

     

o       Playoffs take place from July 20th – July 31st

o       The top four teams in each age division will meet in a single elimination tournament. 

o       Championship Games are on August 1st

 

 

Ø      GAME DAYS:    

 

o       There will be 2-3 games per week.  One to two games during the week at night with 1 game on Saturday.
