Wrestling Gear

Posted by Amanda Medina at Sep 4, 2016 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Wrestling is relatively inexpensive when it comes to the gear you NEED.  If you're just getting started, it's good enough to just have a T-shirt, shorts, wrestling shoes and head gear for practice.  You can purchase wreslting shoes at most sporting goods stores and they typically cost $15 - $50.  You can get a good deal on Ebay for some used shoes for $10-$15 and this is usually sufficient.  We do offer a shoe swap which allows wrestlers to swap shoes with other members when they no longer fit. Additionally, we have a surplus of used wrestling shoes that can be borrowed for use during the season. If interested, please ask your coach!

Practice Schedules

Posted by Amanda Medina at Sep 4, 2016 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Folkstyle Season  (November 2016 - March 2017)

  Time: TBD

Location: TBD

Wrestlers should wear clean wrestling shoes and headgear for practices.  Clean shoes are essential as the kids will be rolling around on the mats and any grit and germs brought in by dirty shoes will be a hazard for our wrestlers..

All wrestlers are expected to be on the mat with headgear and wrestling shoes on at the scheduled time.

Clothing with zippers, snaps or other metal attachments are not allowed.  Please make sure to label all articles of clothing.

Tournaments

Posted by Amanda Medina at Sep 4, 2016 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Throughout the year we compete in several open tournaments.  These are stongly recommended for all our wrestlers.  These are often very large events, in which several hundred wrestlers compete.  Such tournaments tend to be an all-day event (6 Hours) in which kids are grouped by weight, age, and most times experience.

Tournaments will require separate entry fees that generally range between $10.00 - $20.00. The club will cover most entrace fees for wrestlers.  Most tournaments require headgear to be worn.

All wrestler's will need the following equipment:

  • Wrestling Shoes
  • Headgear
