Practices

CATC practice will begin on January 17, 2018 at Castlemont High School in Oakland at 5:30-6:30pm. We will have a Parent Meeting from 5:30-6:00pm. Parents would be asked to sign a code of conduct. The normal days for practice are Monday, Wednesday and Friday with ages 10 and under from 6:00-7:00 and everyone else from 5:30-7:00pm.

Schedule

The schedule will be posted on the website soon at www.catrackclub1.com. For the most part we will compete every other week. The meet venues include Sacramento, El Sobrante, Pleasant Hill, Dublin, and Union City. This summer we will participate in the Sub Bantam Championship (the end of the season for 10 and under athletes), AAU West Coast Championship in Tulare, AAU West Coast Championship in Reno, and possibly, the AAU Junior Olympics. I ask that you check your schedules when the season begins and let me know, in an email, that you are not attending certain meets.  We have to send entries into the track meets 2 weeks in advance and we do not want to throw away money for entry fees.

 Fundraisers

CATC has a number of fundraisers for the season which include:

Jog A Thon (TBA), CATC Wine-and –Cheese Social (TBA), and the 12th Annual CATC Track Meet (4/14).

We are asking each athlete raise a minimum, of $100 for our Annual CATC Jog-A-Thon. It will occur during the regular practice time. Friends and family can pledge per lap or make flat donations to the student athlete. All money for the event must be turned in TBA at practice (more information will follow closer to the date). The CATC Social is at the house of a former parent. We ask that families invite at least one family member, co-worker, or millionaire friend who will hopefully make a donation to the team.

Finally, the CATC Track Meet is on April 14. Every family member must have at least 2 volunteers to represent their families to work at the meet. In the event the family is not represented at all, there will be a $100 fee attached to your athlete account. For the last few years, we have the largest 1 day youth meet in Northern California. In order to conduct a quality meet, we need at least 50 volunteers to put on the meet.

How you can help CATC

- We need as many photographers as possible for the meets. We ask that if you take pictures at any meet, please forward them to Pam Terrell so she can post on the website. You can forward via email or simple give her a disk or flash drive.

- CATC needs someone to organize the snacks for meets. This person will need a count of the number of kids attending the meet, buy food/snacks the night before, and make sure that kids get sandwiches, fruit, and water mid-day. This can also be a team of parents.

- We need a videographer to record meets, edit, and put on our YouTube channel.
