Facebook post from April 11th

Update.  Coaches will be emailed their rosters tonight so they can start contacting players and setting up practice times.  Games schedules will be forthcoming shortly afterwards and sent along to the coaches.,  If you are a new coach this season or would like a refresher, we will be having coach training this Saturday, April 15th at the AYSO soccer fields concessions in Ithaca.  We will start at 9 am.  You must have AYSO coach training in order to participate in our program.  Also this Saturday we will be setting up soccer fields (mowing, painting boundary lines and getting the goals set up).  We do need more help with this so please do not hesitate to come out.  We will be starting at 9 am and will be there until we are finished.  Obviously the more help we have the quicker it will go.  Please email us at AYSO1163@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer.  Brian Adkins AYSO 1163 RC

Facebook post from April 1st

First off, no, this is not an April's Food Day joke.  After speaking with some families with concerns over starting the season on Easter weekend (out of town), coupled with the weather not allowing us to prep the fields by next weekend, it has been decided to delay the season one week.  We will now start the same time as our travel season on Saturday, April 22nd.  Coaches will be contacted next week (Spring Break for most of you) and given their rosters to start calling players and setting up practice times.  Practices can start he week of April 10th.  Coach training and field set up will happen the weekend of April 15th.  We need help for field setup so if you wish to do so please contact us at AYSO1163@gmail.com.  Pictures will be done and fundraisers will be due on April 29th.  We are looking at the emails now for late adds and those people should hear something from us by next week.  If you have  question please contact us via email, AYSO1163@gmail.com.  This is the best way to get a hold of us.  Have a great weekend!  Brian Adkins, AYSO 1163 RC

KIDS ZONE

In AYSO, we want all players, coaches, families and volunteers to have fun. That’s where Kids Zone comes in. Kids Zone is a program that encourages fans on the sidelines, and anyone else near the play, to use positive language, show sportsmanship in their attitude and behavior, and create a great experience for every player. It’s a reminder that the soccer fields are a kid’s zone – a friendly, happy, wholesome place for children to play.

  Kids Zone Pledge:

1.      Kids are No. 1.

2.      Fun, not winning is everything.

3.      Fans only cheer, and only coaches coach.

4.      No yelling in anger.

5.      Respect the volunteer referees.

6.      No swearing or abusive behavior.

7.      No alcohol, tobacco or drugs.

8.      No weapons.

9.      Leave no trash behind.

10.  Set a proper example of sportsmanship.

When it comes down to it, Kids Zone is about supporting every child on the field - even those on the opposing team. It means supporting the players whether they win or lose. It means honoring the game – not the outcome of the game. Remember, respect starts with you!

VIP SOCCER

1163 offers VIP soccer for our players whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams.
