Chatfield Jr Wrestling

Win or Lose stepping out on the mat to compete deserves being rewarded.  Wrestlers that compete in tournaments see the biggest improvements and cut the learning curve fastest.  Inevitably the pressure to win, quickly turns kids and parents from the competitions.  The focus of a young wrestler has to be less on winning and more on their progress as a wrestler.  There are many measures of success on the mat: improving technique, scoring on better wrestlers, not letting an opponent score any points, taking the opponent down, perfecting their favorite shot.  Most of these result in eventual winning.  Winning is the result of doing all the other things right on the mat and in practice.  

Our Tournament Team is made up of the wrestlers that have the courage to lay their skills on the line win or lose.  Taking that first step to commit to the tournament needs recognized because some times that is the hardest part.  You will notice who is on our Tournament Team by seeing their Tournament Team Gear.
